Too Far From Florida

There are many people that want to support the TBAF Golfing For Inclusion, but are not able to attend. Aron Hall, the Director of Services at the Bubel/Aiken Foundation, has come up with a great plan.

The Foundation has a connection with the First Tee program in Florida. Through this program, it is possible to sponsor a young golfer so that they can participate in the tournament.

For $500, a young golfer can participate in a full day of activities. This is an excellent way to encourage a young golfer and support the TBAF at the same time.

If $500 is too expensive, why not set up a board sponsorship?? It would be nice to see a young golfer supported by each fan board.

If you are interested, you need to use the registration form at the TBAF web site and check the entry that says “Phantom Sponsor”.   If you don’t put in a name, the TBAF can use the sponsorship to choose a player who needs it the most.

  1. Wish I could attend, but a) dont play golf and b) few thousand miles away!

Seriously though, its a great charity and "inclusion" for everyone is one of the most single important thing we can do for the kids of this world – they have the right to the same facilities as everyone else and if Clay Aiken can acknowledge this, then so can we 🙂

  2. When I was watching AI2, I fell in love with Clay’s voice at the Atlanta audition. During one of his interviews, when he said that he was a student studying Special Education, I fell in love with the man. Teaching is one of the most important callings out there, and working with children with Special Needs is amazing.

I was hoping that I could participate in this great cause and this just may be the ticket (since the plane ticket and dinner/entertainment/auction ticket is not in the cards this year).

  3. I think this is a great idea. I actually live in Florida, but it is still too far away and I could never afford it. Besides, I don’t play golf. I think it’s great if a few young people who would not normally be able to attend are able to because of this program.

  4. I think this is a wonderful idea and something I will do today. I can’t attend the event this year, but would love to sponsor someone else that can, and enjoys playing golf.
