Sony Legacy announced the release of a new CD called Playlist: The Very Best of Clay Aiken (Original Recording Remastered) The drop-date is March 31, 2009.
The announcement of this album is interesting as it was only 2 days ago that Clay Aiken notified his fans that he was leaving RCA.
The album can be pre-ordered at Amazon and is already rising on the their charts.
He’s had to have known about this CD for a while, yet nothing was mentioned to the fans. Interesting.
It’s interesting to think how much is going on behind the scenes!

Well, as of 9:50 p.m. Eastern time, this CD was already at #25 – I guess RCA can kiss their cashcow goodbye!!!!
Well, you know that Clay fans are going to pre-order this as fast as they can! The Very Best of Clay Aiken! Who wouldn’t want that! It is all very interesting….
Well, I will just have to have it, that’s all!! I don’t think I can go to bed until it gets to number 1, but at the rate it’s going, it shouldn’t be long.
Hope Clay knows about the reaction to this and how it is just skyrocketing.
This is all so interesting. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out. In the mean time I have a new CD to look forward to.

I can’t imagine my not liking any song Clay has ever sang so I will get it. It is interesting- I can’t wait to see what songs are on it. It is all good-more Clay for us-I am happy and not dead yet!

Don’t know what RCA is doing with this, whether it’s their last chance to make money with Clay, knowing his fans will buy this recent release, or it is something else, but we’ll buy it.
I’m very curious to see what songs are on this CD. I really hope we get a new song or 2 that we haven’t heard yet. It’s been mentioned that we should wait to pre-order it until the CD cover and song list are posted. This will help sales from the casual fan.
I will definitely be buying the CD. If Clay sings it, I’ll buy it. Cannot wait to see what songs are on it!
Definitely will buy this CD because I support Clay. I can’t wait to see the track list. Don’t they usually put at least a couple previously recorded unreleased songs on this type of CD?

As of 8:45pm Pacific Time 2/22/09 that CD is now at #8 in music and #1 in Movers and Shakers. The news was just released today.

The media loves to write about Clay Aiken and maybe now they will start writing unbiased positive bits about him instead of vicious lies when they realize what he has gone through.

I sure don’t want to put another penny in RCA’s pocket, but there must be some extenuating circumstances happening in this scenario, so I will.
Will it matter that I’m doing an exuberant FURCA happy dance as I place my order?

This is such exciting news! I’ve already preordered, and can’t wait to see what’s on it. I’m hoping that we’ll get some music from the work Clay did for his sophomore cd that Clive nixed for the covers cd. But even if not, I’m happy to support Clay and have a cd of his best works.

If it contained even some of the tracks that he recorded for the second album–the tracks that never were released–I would be one happy camper.
Playlist: The Very Best of Clay Aiken sounds interesting. I’ll doubt that we see any new songs on this, but better arrangements as RCA has a tendency to be overdone with background arrangements for Clay.
I had to order this. I hope too that maybe some of the stuff that he had intended to be on his 2nd album will be on this. If not I won’t be disappointed, it’s still Clay singing.
Thinking back to the Talkback, Clay did say that his next album would be covers. Do you think he perhaps knew what RCA was planning?

Carole, I think Clay had a pretty good idea what was going on in November when he did the talk back. I just don’t think he was in a position to discuss it. He’s pretty darn good at letting us know without REALLY letting us know
It was up to #11 when I went to Amazon. Waiting to order until I see the song list, but I know I’ll cave in…even if I already have all the songs he ever recorded or sang on ALL the gazillion CD’s I have. Will be interesting to see what songs are picked.
Even though Clay will probably not make a dime on this…I will still buy it…at this point it’s not about the money so much as showing support.. for Clay. RCA never did right by him, never promoted him the way he should have been… Virtually no promotion… It’s important to show that he still has a very large fanbase out there..and we love the guy..
Count me in for purchasing a CD. If it’s got Clay on it..I’m there. besides, I don’t know of anyone else that can replace him. I absolutely adore his voice, covers or not…

VBOCA came yesterday did a pre-order, can’t stop listening to it. Clay will be a musical icon forever. His voice is amazing! Glad he left RCA, he never got any promotion from them something he truly deserved it.No radio play nothing to let the world know what he is all about. We North East Pa fans are waiting for a tour.
Have all of his CD’s and don’t care if these are repeats, he has such a voice will listen to him always.
