Congratulations go out to Clay Aiken. The National Association for Music Education released the newest edition of its series of radio public service announcements featuring top pop, country, and classical musicians. Clay was asked, for the third year, to join this prestigious group of musicians to talk about the value and importance of music education. He joins Trisha Yearwood, Gloria Estefan, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Billy Taylor and many more.
March has been officially designated as Music In Our Schools Month by The National Association for Music Education.
MIOSM began as a single statewide celebration in 1973, and has grown each year. In 1985 it became a month long celebration of school music. The purpose of the celebration is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children. It is also a time to remind citizens that school is where all children should have access to music.
Each year the celebration grows and reaches more students, teachers and musicians. MIOSM is celebrated throughout the country and overseas with concerts and other activities that fit the theme. Students perform in classrooms, malls, concert halls, civic buildings, clubs, parks, and libraries.
The World’s Largest Concert has been the highlight of Music In Our School Month since 1985. A sing-along concert linking students around the world through music, the WLC reached an estimated 6 million students, teachers and music supporters in recent years. The 2011 WLC sing-along event will be March 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
What an honor for Clay to be asked to join in this celebration. And how lucky MENC is to have Clay support their cause.
Waterbury is the fifth largest city in Connecticut and is 77 miles northeast of New York City. It is the home of 107,271 citizens of diverse ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds.
Waterbury is known for its advanced technology capabilities, historic architecture and facades, and its strong communities and neighborhoods!
But, on Sunday, February 20th, Waterbury was known as the city that hosted The Tried and True Tour, featuring Clay Aiken.
According to the cellcert and the reports from fans that were in attendance, the Waterbury concert was incredible. From the very beginning, it was obvious that the musicians had changed-up the play list and added more “Clay” hits to the show.
CANN sends a big shout-out to Ben Cohn. The arrangements for Sunday’s concert were amazing and the set list provided the best flow for the singers and the audience! Bravo!

Thanks for all the videos from the concerts you have posted. I look forward to viewing them each day. Since Clay is changing the concerts up with some different songs each night, it is nice to be able to come here and see what he did. I am really enjoying all the clack.

There has been a lot in the news in our area, where schools are having to cut back their music programs. All any one can do is fund raisers in hopes of keeping these programs alive in our schools. It's such a tragedy for these kids and for the community to loose their music programs. Where would we all be without beautiful music. Congratulations to Clay again for using his voice.
It is nice to know that Clay is still involved in the Menc Music Education programs. Children can learn through music and I hope they keep on having it in schools.
