Clay Aiken – Tour Is A Big Success!

As Clay Aiken’s Tried and True Tour has past the halfway point, there is no doubt that the tour has been successful.

Each review has praised Clays beautiful voice, his quick wit and wonderful rapport with the audiences. All reports seem to mention the top musicians that are backing Clay during this tour.  Each musician brings a special talent to the show and helps to make the concert an amazing event.

In this time of economic turmoil, it is important that we realize how lucky we are to have Clay touring.  Ticket sales are improving as word of the successful show gets out, but as with many top musical stars, Tried and True must be crunching the numbers.

On Monday, February 28th, the problems with concert tours made many headlines.  Live Nation Entertainment reported Monday that its annual loss nearly tripled as concert attendance dropped.  The concert promoter and parent of Ticketmaster lost $228.4 million.

According to the Associated Press, concert attendance at shows promoted by Live Nation fell 9 percent and the arts and theater category decreased 12 percent.  Michael Rapino, CEO of Live Nation blames the economy and “industry specific problems.”

The decline is obvious when you realize that there were many major tours from major artists (U2, the Eagles, Christina Aguilera, “American Idols Live!” and the revived Lilith Fair tour) had many cancellations and postponements.  The company has been dropping prices in order to encourage sellout crowds.

And with all of this, Clay Aiken is out on tour.  He didn’t put it off and he didn’t cancel any scheduled stops.  And even though the tour is not selling out venues, in my eyes, the concert tour is successful.

Live Nation is based in Beverly Hills, California and has been buying out different companies in hopes of being the world leader in live events.  They are connected to Ticketmaster, Clear Channel Communications, and House of Blues.  They own 117 venues and the rights to book 33 additional venues.

  1. I'm so thankful that Clay has had th opportunity to tour. I know I can't wait to see him in less than a week. 🙂 Go Clay!!

  2. Just one little note to today's post. U2 didn't postpone any of their tour dates because of low sales. It was because Bono had back surgery. The dates were rescheduled for this year and are selling out stadiums, even now.

  3. I am sorry to hear that concert tours as a whole are doing poorly. Hopefully there will be a turn around soon. As for Clay, he gives the best concerts ever. His talent, humor, and the way he engages the audience are like none other. I never get tired of watching him and hope for many more tours in the future.

  4. This is great information to know that other artists are facing the same problem and it's not just Clay. I've been praying that word would spread about how good this concert is and ticket sales would improve. I went to the Charlotte concert and I loved it. Nothing better than Clay Aiken live in concert.

  5. I too believe that Clay's tour is a success..It keeps gaining momentum..that that is a good thing…Word of Mouth.. Especially since you won't hear Clay on the radio…He is doing well. All the other artists are always promoted on the radio. I believe that winter is a difficult time as well, as I know quite a few people that did not go, because they were unsure of travelling. It's been a bad winter all around. I'm so glad that I got to see 3 shows…they were amazing!!!

  6. Thank you for such important information. I am so happy that Clay's tour is doing so well and that he decided to go ahead with it.

  7. Economic woes are affecting touring this year, so I'm very happy Clay pleased his fans by not cancelling any of his tour dates. You are correct, as the word gets out, he is selling more tickets and believe me, the concert is well worth the expenditure.

  8. It is so like Clay not to let his fans down. He made it work and he is making every single night of this tour special for those that are there. Clay Aiken never disappoints. I loved the concert I saw and wish I could go to more. It really is my favorite tour.

  9. Clay never lets us down. He takes lemons and makes lemonade! He is a very ambitious, smart individual and he will always do good. I have noticed as soon as the shows started and people watched the video's they got more and more interested in going. Seems to me we have our own publication. Lol! But, who could resist the Aiken. I went to the second show in Orlando..and enjoyed the heck out of it. Loved that Rock song he sang to WSN. Wow…the place went wild. I would go to every one of them if I could. Just love the guy!!
