Clay Aiken – “They Will Be Locked”

Do you remember “They Will Be Locked”?    Clay Aiken shouted out this phrase when he was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live in September of 2006.

As always, Clay and Jimmy seemed to enjoy chatting with each other.  Jimmy introduced Clay as his best friend and Clay presented Jimmy with his Relly award that he took from Jimmy’s office.

Jimmy had collected some items from Clay’s Fan Club store.  Jimmy held up 2 different boxer shorts, a thong, a signed pashmina and a paper fan that featured Clay’s face!!

Clay related a story about a presidential motorcade that stopped traffic and made Clay wait for about 25 minutes. He told about the limo driver that was not too patient when Clay was concerned about the door of the limo being locked….so “THEY WILL BE LOCKED!!”

Two young ladies who were a part of the audience were shown having Clay’s signature tattooed on their backs.  They came up to the stage to show Clay.  However, Clay could not be out-done.  He rolled up his pant-leg and showed off his “tattoo” of Jimmy.  He even complained that he had to shave his leg for Jimmy.

After the chat, Clay moved to the Pontiac Stage and gave a short concert for the audience. The television audience heard A Thousand Days and a few lines of Invisible. The live audience heard Without You, When I See You Smile and Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word.

I hope that Clay will have the opportunity to visit Jimmy again.  The two men really entertain the audience when they chat together…its great TV!!

Have you even seen Clay live at a TV taping?

  1. Clay was so cute and funny that night. I love A Thousand Days. It's such a beautiful song. I hope he gets to be on Jimmy Kimmel again soon.

  2. Never had the pleasure of watching Clay live on a tv show at a taping. What I would give for it…..*sigh*

  3. I loved watching this interview again. It was just so much fun. George Lopez looked like he was having so much fun as well… I'd love to see Clay on Jimmy's show again…SOON…

  4. Only taping I have ever been to was the PBS taping – not too many national TV shows taped in my neck of the woods 😉 One of my all time favorite appearances by Clay, simply wonderful!!!!! Oh, and the crazy fan in line that day? [youtube i1sJiUvVnxg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1sJiUvVnxg youtube] (I don't know if that worked, hopefully it did)

    Thanks for the great memory!!!

  5. Clay was a hoot talking to Kimmel. He couldnt have been hotter looking when he did ATDW. Loved his outfit and hair.

  6. This was one of my favorite Clay Aikekn appearances! LAWD JESUS has become kind of a catch phrase among fans.

I was lucky enough to be at the PBS taping. Best decision I ever made was to go–I will never forget it–it was magic!!

  7. I was at the PBS taping but nothing else. I wonder if Clay and Jimmy will ever be together again. They'd be a fun team for a celebrity version of The Amazing Race.

  8. I have never been to any of the live shows in the audience. I usually watched those at home and taped them. You never know..maybe if Clay will be on TCA he may be on Jimmy Kimmel's Show to promote it. Maybe on other shows too. I hope so. They had lots of fun together.

  9. Clay was so funny that day and so gorgeous talking to Jimmy Kimmel. I remember that night so well since I watched it over many times by taping the show. He couldn't have been any better looking than when he did ATDW. Loved his hair that way.
