Clay Aiken Digs Into His Theatrical Roots

In 2005, Clay Aiken traveled around the country presenting  The Joyful Noise Tour. Aiken dug into his theatrical roots for this holiday show. He  wrote a story that incorporated traditional Christmas songs and tunes from his Christmas CD,  Merry Christmas With Love.   He spent little time in the spotlight, instead letting the actors and dancers perform scenes as he sang. It was more than a concert, but still highlighted the wonderful voice of Clay, backed by his accomplished back-up singers. It was fun to see how Clay used some talented actors and singers from his hometown of Raleigh. He also used capable performers from local theater groups from the area of the concert.

Did you get to see this concert live?? I was lucky enough to see it twice.

Because of the talent of so many fans, we have many wonderful pictures from that tour. Please vote for your favorite picture. This will be hard!!

Monday was my travel day from Raleigh to San Francisco…Why in the world isn’t there a non-stop flight?  It took much too long!

I guess I need to get back to my schedule now that I’m home.  You have all been very patient with all my travels.  Thank you!

  1. Hard choice, but I'll choose #4!! I did see it a few times and always loved his Christmas concerts. This one was extremely memorable!!

  2. #5 and #2! I can only dream that the look his is giving in #2 would be directed at me 🙂 SO cute! Thanks for posting!

  3. Great to see these pictures again. I love #2, but I also like #1 with the snow. It makes such a pretty picture.

Hope your trip home was not too much of a challenge. Many thanks for all the reports. I just knew I could find out what was happening right here.

  4. Number 4 is magical! I went to the concert with a friend who didn’t know Clay. She fell in love with him that night. Clay was an angel in that white suit, but I loved when he came out infront of the curtain in the black suit and sang solo and with Quiana.

  5. Love all these pictures! If I had to pick one it would be #2! For the same reason as Brittany has commented, love that look 🙂

  6. I think all of the photos of Clay's image are fantastic. Based on the total picture and therefore taking into account the pleasant aesthetics of his surroundings, I like #6 and #7 the most. They both give me a pause for thought.

  7. You were right … it was very difficult to choose. So I chose two! #1 and #4! I love Clay singing amidst the falling snow, and I can almost hear the reverence in his voice as he sings on #4. I didn't get to see the Joyful News tour, but I did see his first Christmas show, and he was amazing! At this time of the year when radio stations are playing Xmas tunes 24/7 it reminds me just how incredibly beautiful his voice is, especially when he sings holiday music. So many of the artists that are getting strong radio play right now can't hold a candle to Clay when is comes to Xmas … or any other time of the year for that matter!

  8. I have to go with #2 photo because he is looking directly at the photographer with "that look."

  9. I love all the pictures….but, I had to pick #4 because that is when he sang the awesome song "Good News." I love that song.

Yes, I did go to the one with the little plays in it. I think that might be my favorite JNT of them all. I believe Clay produced that one himself. He was very proud of it too. I saw it in Melbourne, Fl. at the King Center. My daughter and granddaughter went with me. They loved it also.

  10. I love all of them, but since we need to pick only one I would pick #4. I was able to see this concert twice also-what a great one!

  11. I love them all, but #4 is breathtaking….. I loved that tour… Christmas Clay is THE BEST!!!!!
