Clay Aiken – Always A Winner!

It is New Year’s Eve, 2012!  It’s the last day of the year.  Do you have big plans for the day/night?

Here at CANN, we are celebrating the #1 Top Standout Moment for Clay Aiken in 2012!

~ Becoming the number 1 -#2 – Participating on Celebrity Apprentice ~

Before the show ever started, the rumors of Clay being a member of the cast was being leaked on every popular entertainment site, magazine, and entertainment TV show.  Each writer wanted to predict the winners and, to be honest, in most cases, Clay was thought to be one of the people who would be eliminated quickly.

However, it didn’t take long for the reviewers and audience to see that Clay Aiken was intelligent, highly motivated, funny, articulate and ready to win the entire show.  So…why did I choose Clay’s participation on Celebrity Apprentice as the #1 Standout Moment?  Well…

  1. Clay was on television every Sunday night for 14 weeks with an average of 4 to 6 million people watching each Sunday.
  2. Clay was re-introduced to an audience who remembered him from American Idol but had lost touch with what he was doing now.
  3. The writers and publishers loved writing about Clay and, in most cases, thought he was doing a great job.
  4. Clay started being active on Twitter.  His account grew quickly with fans and non-fans signing up to see what Clay would say next.
  5. It seemed that the cast of the show respected Clay and let everyone know that he was a great team-mate… (Well, almost all of them).
  6. Clay was invited to participate in many other TV shows and so his audience grew and changed.  All of a sudden it was “cool” to like Clay Aiken.
  7. Everyone thought Clay was the winner…almost every reviewer thought it was a given.  But, when Trump got confused and named Arsenio the winner, everyone still thought Clay was the winner.

There is no way I can review 14 weeks of the show, but I will post a few of my favorite pictures.  I enjoyed seeing Clay every week and even though I was in tears at the finale, I think that Clay’s participation in this show is the top stand-out moment of 2012.

 So…what do you think?

What is your list of the top stand-out moments of 2012?

  1. Oh I love your choice…the only thing better is my two nights that I saw him in concert in St Charles, IL and Milwaukee, WI. Of course, those are very personal choices and don't affect the fandom as a whole LOL Great pics too!

  2. Yep! I do believe you got it right musicfan! CAp was indeed at the top of MY list also! Having Clay on my tv every single week was so much fun! It didn't hurt to know that through the fans we knew he made it to the end with Arsenio. I don't want to talk about the outcome 🙁 cos it still hurts! Clay had fun with it when he was on his tour. Let's hope that 2013 will be anothr banner year for him! Thanks musicfan for this blog. I look forward to it every single morning! Happy New Year!!

    • Yes, I agree with everything you said, it was so great to see him on tv for 14 weeks, I looked forward to every moment he was on. Thanks musicfan, you did great. xox
      HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

  3. Yes, I agree with your choice. Clay did a stellar job on CA. We all know he should have won. But, I so enjoyed watching him every Sunday night. Have to agree though..the finale was so disappointing and sad. I think my one night of seeing him in Clearwater, Florida was the best one for me..but, that is just my opinion.

  4. Ijust have to……HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL ……thank you……xxxxxxxxxxxx

  5. I agree. Celebrity Apprentice would definitely be the moment of the year (besides the tour of course).

It was so fun to see Clay on tv every week. He was smart, funny and really played well. I wish he would have won but maybe it’s for the best since Donald seems to be a little nuts anyways. Can’t wait to see what the New Year will bring.

  6. I was sure you'd choose Apprentice as the #1 on this list, and here it is! It was wonderful looking forward to Sunday night for 14 weeks to see Clay in action. I agree with Buttercup…the best personal choice was seeing Clay up close, live in concert in December 2012. This was a fun year end wrap up for CANN. Looking forward to many great things for Clay in the coming year.

  7. Great blog! 2012 was a great year in Clayland. We had Clay on our TV not only on Capp, but also other high profile appearances, and also the wonderful JNT2012 tour! Hope in 2013 we have lots of Clay too. We can never have enough.

  8. Great choice Musicfan. We were thrilled to have Clay on our tv's every Sunday night for 14 weeks. How perfect. Loved being able to watch Clay handle each situation, and he handled everything with class and great determination. I truly believe that Clay deserved to win, but that is water under the bridge now, so we'll just move on. He's formed some nice friendships from his experience and am thankful for that. But he always seems to make new friends wherever he goes.
    Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!!

  10. You picked some great pics to share with this blog. Last year at this time we had a lot to look forward to – 14 weeks of Clay. That was such an exciting time and we didn't need to worry how far Clay would get on the show. I hope it's not too long before we get some new exciting Clay news. Happy New Year, musicfan!
