Clay Aiken – “It’s A Way of Life!”

Dance:

  • to move one’s feet or body, or both, rhythmically in a pattern of steps, especially to the accompaniment of music.
  • to leap, skip, etc., as from excitement or emotion; move nimbly or quickly: to dance with joy.
  • a form of non verbal communication between humans.
  • a successive group of rhythmical steps or body motions, or both, usually executed to music.
Are you watching the hit TV show, Dancing With The Stars?  I enjoy watching the show and enjoy seeing both non-dancing celebrities and dancing pros work together to put together some difficult routines.
I was sad last night when one of my favorites had to withdraw from the competition.  Olympic gold medalist Dorothy Hamill excused herself from further shows despite being safe after her scores were announced. Dorothy said:
I’ve taken the advice of my spine surgeon, and I need to withdraw from the competition. I have an injury that could be irreparable, and nerve damage. It would be completely unfair for me to stay in this and have any of these people go home… These are the most amazing people who want to be here. It’s not that I don’t want to be here, but I wish I could give it my all, but I can’t.
I am sure that Dorothy made a wise decision however I will certainly miss the talented, gracious and classy Ms. Hamill.
Now…how can we get Clay Aiken on this show?
Clay Aiken CAN dance!!

“Dance isn’t a form, it’s a way of life”

“Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another.”

“Dancers aren’t made of their technique, but their passion.”

“We dance for laughter, we dance for tears,

We dance for madness, we dance for fears.

We dance for hopes, we dance for screams,

We are the dancers, we create the dreams.

  1. Clay is his worst critic. He has half the battle of dancing won. #1 he has perfect turn out, something dancers work years for,#2 if you notice during the Timeless Tour even pretending to be a spastic when dancing he is always on the beat, never, never out of time with the music because Clay feels the music through his whole body. Many people do not have that gift which makes learning to dance even more difficult. If he would lift the limitations he puts on himself there are very few things this man cannot do. I think he would be a success story on DWTS. Just my opinion from what I observe.

  2. He has said he doesn't want to do it and that should be that. Yes we know he can dance but if he feels he would embarrass himself that is another thing. Maybe if he could just sing. I doubt after Celebrity Apprentice that Clay will ever do a reality show again.

    • I agree, he shouldn't do DWTS if he feels uncomfortable with it. I was just expressing an observation. Didn't mean to get anyone upset over it.

      • Sorry Cookie0… I didn't mean to respond to you. I didn't see your post. Just making a point. I think I probably posted before you but the post wasn't accepted until later. : )

        • Hi There….just a quick bit of info….The program that is used here for comments is great. It always puts the comments in the order they are posted, even when I can't approve them right away. And yes, I approve every comment. This is a positive place and I am not interested in giving hateful comments a place to be seen. You can disagree, but hurtful comments stay hidden as do advertisements.

        • Never the less… when I posted the comment box said (0). I did not see Cookie's post.. didn't read it and wouldn't offend her or anyone. I was totally commenting on what Clay has said and I believe we will never see him on DWTS.

  3. I watch DWTS, too – I do enjoy it – have always loved watching dancers and skaters! What they do
with their body and heart is beautiful! In another life I would be one of them – if God gave me that
wonderful gift. Just so grateful for all of the talent that Clay has even if he thinks he can't dance –
he sure can not deny that he can sing!! Major God-given gift! <3

  4. That was a great fun video to watch this morning, loved it! Clay is adorable! just makes my day, thanks Musicfan xox.

  5. I hope Dorothy Hamill feels better. I adored her when I was a kid.

I love that video. Clay is so fun to watch. I’m sure he’d do great on DWTS.

  6. One just has to watch the TNT Knoxville Request Medley download for Who's Sorry Now with Clay doing Disco to see that he has the ability to dance i.e. swing and sway to the music. Hot! I agree though – if Clay doesn't want to pursue dancing – he can continue to do what he really loves – which is to sing beautifully. A little dancing while singing at concerts though would be greatly appreciated.

  7. Clay on Dancing With The Stars would be the worst possible situation EVER. Please don't keep promoting that.

  8. I love dance and enjoy the dancing shows on TV. Yes, Clay could dance if he wanted to. He just thinks he can't! I know that Clay has said that he would never be on the show and that is fine…but I still would love to see him on it!

I love all the music quotes too. Love the blog today!!

  9. clay aiken omn dancing with the starts thats not a good idia it wold be the werest possible situation ever please dont ever continue to promoting he shouled continue to sing thats his talent

  10. OK…..just a quick comment…

Clay has made it clear that he is not interested in dancing on Dancing with The Stars. I am, in no way trying to promote him on that show. I guess I made a mistake by writing one "throw away" sentence in the blog. It was not meant to be take seriously and it was a way for me to finish the section of the blog. Obviously, not a good idea…

I hope you all know that I support Clay first and foremost and will support him in whatever decisions he makes.

    • Musicfan…..no need to feel bad. I took your throw away question to be rhetorical, i.e. as already knowing the answer (because we've been told it by Clay), i.e.which to me was – getting Clay to do DWTS was not ever likely to happen. Also want to mention that it was a very interesting and informative blog. Always love seeing Clay dance, whenever the spirit or music moves him.

  11. I would love to see Clay dance. I'm sure he's much better than he lets on. Believe me, if there's one person in the room that can't dance….it's me. I do well to walk and chew gum without bringing on a natural disaster! LOL I think Clay would be great and I know that whatever he takes on, we'll be right there with him, cheering him on and supporting him 🙂

  12. Yes, absolutely, Clay can dance (referring to the disco dance to Who's Sorry Now and all the above mentioned. You need to check out some of the Spamalot moves!) He is fantastic, but I don't ever see him doing anymore reality shows. He is on earth to do bigger and better things. We need to be patience. 🙂

  13. Well, I figure if Clay doesn't want to be on DWTS, that is his decision to make. I don't know why, but I really never thought about him being on there. I love the little dances that he does for us in concert. Especially the one mentioned above from TNT Knoxville Request Medley-Clay doing Disco. OMG! I used to watch that one over and over. I'll have to look that one up on YouTube. Have to admit, Clay is a Dancing Sex Machine, when he wants to be.

  14. I'm also watching DWTS! Sad to see Dorothy go!!! LOVE to see Clay on DWTS!!!!!! He'd defiantly have a HUGE fan base, and I bet he'd get far!!!! But then he'd probably get the title of "Runner Up." (As if he hasn't gotten this title before!) :p

  15. Clay is so much fun in concert!! I love Sue's "It's Just Dancin'" montage. It is one of my most favourites!!!!

  16. I think Clay is so very sexy…when he dances, even in fun, that comes across. But I do not want him on DWTS…don't want to give people another chance to slam him.
He really does have great moves!
