On Tuesday, September 23rd, Ruben Studdard and Fantasia were special guests at an exciting reception/fundraiser for their friend, Clay Aiken. Clay, who is running for Congress in the 2nd district in North Carolina, seemed excited to join his friends and American Idol Alumni at the Elder Art Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina.
There were many pictures of the event posted on Facebook and Twitter. And, from the messages that were posted, it sounds like everyone had an exciting time.

On Tuesday, I posted a mid-day blog about the Clay/Renee Debate. It certainly hit the news throughout the U.S. If you didn’t have a chance to read it, it is titled “The Debate Is On” and you can see it on page 2. I would imagine that there might be many up-coming days that I post more than once. I hope you will check in during the day!!
I love it when Clay's musical friends step up to the plate for him. He has the gift of making lasting friendships wherever he goes. He did it with Idol, Apprentice, Spamalot, and again with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat last summer. One of his most surprising supporters is Kathy Griffin who made a living making fun of him for years. Now she's firmly in his political corner. So excited to see how much support he is garnering in the NC political community, as well as with just regular folks, like the folks at. Auman's Orchard. Exciting momentum! Now if we can just get all those NC voters to the polls!(fingers crossed)!

Sure would have been fun to be there last night!! Sadly I am once agin home and nowhere near all the happenings….. So there was a little bit of singing with Rueben and Quintin Talley? How fun! Hope they raised lots of money for Clay!! Yikes! 41 days away!!
