Clay Aiken – Listening and Learning

Clay Aiken spent Saturday morning in the beautiful town of Apex, North Carolina.  Apex, voted the best small town in North Carolina, is in Wake County and has a population of just over 42,000.

On Saturday, The Apex Kiwanis presented the Annual Kiwanis Club of Apex Charity Car & Bike Show.  Besides being a interesting event, the show is a fund raiser for the Kiwanis Club.

I was interested to learn that The Apex Kiwanis provides 1,200 dictionaries every year to seven Apex area public schools.  The dictionaries are given to 3rd graders.  But…the Kiwanis members don’t stop with just delivering the dictionaries, the members sit with the children in a forum in each class and help them use the dictionaries looking up words like honesty, loyalty and their meanings.  What an outstanding project!

I was glad to see Clay Aiken at the Charity Car show.  I am sure he enjoys hearing the wonderful stories about the purpose of the events.

A big thank you to Jen Geurin Ferrell for the information about the Kiwanis Club of Apex.

The following are some pictures of Clay as he connected with the voters.  He spoke with Apex Police officers, Kiwanis members, and many moms, dads and children.  I am sure Clay took the time to listen and learn about the concerns and goals of the people of Apex.

What a fun way to spend a Saturday morning!

Now…what’s on the agenda for Clay Aiken today?
