  1. As we know, the "physical single CD" is a thing of the past! I think this was the last one to actually sell a million physical copies in a store but I'm not sure. Does anyone know for sure?

  2. I remember when Clay performed this song on American Idol and Randy said that he hopes that it wasn't going to be his first single! Was he ever wrong, I hope he ate crow for that statement! I only watched the Miss America pageant for Clay. He performed two songs. What a night! Thank you, musicfan for the memories!

  3. Love all those early days of Clay's journey, he's just special to me. Love the video you posted. Thanks Martha xo

  4. I didn't buy the single because I bought the album. Bridge Over Troubled Waters was a additional selling point. I recall checking the Saturday paper for weeks when SoundScan posted the #1 hits and Clay was there week after week. It broke the record for longest time at #1as I recall.

  5. i remember clay singing this is the night on miss amercia pagent and on idol i havent herd this is the night in ages
