Clay Aiken – Some Beautiful Lyrics

In 2007, Clay toured around the country performing the Soft Rock and A Hard Place Tour.  It was a huge success.

One of the beautiful places where Clay performed was
the Biltmore Estate in Asheville.
 The weather was clear,
the estate was beautiful
and the music and entertainment…
Fabulous!

One of the most popular songs on the concert was Lover All Alone.
This is the song that presented Clay as a lyrics writer.
David Foster wrote the music and Clay wrote the lyrics.
Clay told the audience that David wrote his part in about 10 minutes
while Clay took 7 months to write the lyrics! Ha! Ha!

Maybe I’ve convinced myself
I’ve really been in love
And I’ve been wrong all along
For all I know the feeling and the picture
That I’ve tried so hard to find
Isn’t mine
Could be it’s all just a waiting game
Want to share my everything
And on my own it’s hard
To tell my heart it’ll be alright
This love it holds
Will one day find a home
As hard as love can be
It’s harder still it seems
To be a lover all alone without love

Lover All Alone is one of my favorite songs.  I love hearing Clay sing this sad, but beautiful song.

The following video is of Clay singing Lover All Alone.

Enjoy

  1. Feels as though Clay is singing about himself with this song! Beautiful lyrics! Thank you David Foster and of course Clay, too! CANN, you are the best! Have a relaxing weekend everyone!

  2. Those words by Clay are right from his heart. I hope someday he will find the person to fill that void in his life. Beautiful presentation of that very special song. I did attend that concert but not the one in Asheville.

  3. I attended the concert in Asheville and will never forget it. Thank you sooo very much for the memories
