One of the signature songs that Clay Aiken sings during the holiday time is titled “Don’t Save It All For Christmas Day.” The emotional song is usually performed at the end of his concert. The song is well-known for its inspiring lyrics and the amazing “glory” note.
“Don’t Save It All For Christmas Day” was originally recorded by Celine Dion. While looking for a new song for one of her albums, Celine partnered with Ric Wake and the two of them penned this beautiful song.
According to Wikipedia, Ric Wake is recognized as one of the top music producers in the world. He is an Academy Award winner and a two time Grammy Award winner. He is well known for producing star vocalists from Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Barry Manilow, Marc Anthony among others, besides his Oscar winning production on Chicago (2002 film). In October 2007, it was announced that Wake and Greek composer Yanni were working together in the studio to produce new music. They also were encouraging young singer/songwriters by providing a creative environment for their work.
Since today is December 7th, I found a performance from Clay Aiken that was a part of his 2007 holiday tour. On December 7th, 2007, Clay performed in Albany, New York at the Palace Theater. The performance was wonderful. I previewed 4 of the videos. All of them were good, but each one has a moment of black screen when the audience stands in the middle of the song. It would be hard to blame the audience. Clay always deserves a standing ovation.
Don’t Save It All For Christmas Day
Don’t get so busy that you miss
Giving just a little kiss
To the ones you love
Don’t even wait a little while
To give them a little smile
A little is enough
How many people are crying
People are dying…
How many people are asking for love
Don’t save it all for Christmas Day
Find a way
To give a little love everyday
Don’t save it all for Christmas Day
Find your way
Cause holidays have come and gone
But love lives on
If you give on
Love…
How could you wait another minute
A hug is warmer when you’re in it
And Baby that’s a fact
And saying “I love you’s” always better
Seasons, reasons, they don’t matter
So don’t hold back
How many people in this world
So needful in this world
How many people are praying for love
Don’t save it all for Christmas Day
Find a way
To give a little love everyday
Don’t save it all for Christmas Day
Find your way
Cause holidays have come and gone
But love lives on
If you give on
Love…
Let all the children know
Everywhere that they go
Their whole life long
Let them know love
Don’t save it all for Christmas Day
Find a way
To give a little love everyday
Don’t save it all for Christmas Day
Find your way
Cause holidays have come and gone
But love lives on
If you give on
Love…
Love…

Just a quick reminder to add your song choices to December 5th’s entry.
I do love that song and Clay's singing it is amazing! But it also has a wonderful message.
Great contemporary Christmas song sung exquisitely by Clay Aiken.
I love that song…and I loved the tour "Christmas In The Heartland," it was beautifully arranged and sung. I always get a big kick out of everytime Clay sings "And Baby that's a Fact," how everybody screams. That is a good upbeat Christmas Song. Thanks for that excellent video.
Loved the way Clay did this song! Just beautiful! Thanks for the video and song information and words to follow along as he sang! Just great!
That evening and that particular night's performance of that song is very special to me and near and dear to my heart. Thanks for reminding me and letting me relive it.
Thank you very much. I love this song and the interpretation that Clay Aiken ago. Clay and Christmas always go together for me.
Rossy
Another fabulous song by Clay Aiken. It's the best even without glory notes, BUT have to admit I just love them, in any song! No One can sing with the beauty of Clay.
No one can hold a note like Clay. Just another aspect of his amazing voice.
I love Clay's glory notes!
Clay Aiken has hit so many amazing glory notes throughout his career. Thanks for the video of DSIAFCD … a perfect example of his perfect voice!
I remember hearing Clay Aiken sing that for the first time. I never tire of that song!
Love DSIAFCD when Clay Aiken sings it. You can tell, just like My Grown Up Christmas List, that the words ring true – so much heart and SUCH A VOICE!!
Thanks!
This has been one of my favorite Clay Aiken songs for a long time. Clay really shows the passion of the lyrics. AND……."that's a fact" gets me every time.
Thanks for another great blog!!
