I pulled out the Clay Aiken 14 Year Calendar last night. It is always fun to see if there is any exciting event that happened on a certain date. September 26th is a great day to look at the calendar. Yes, we are a day early, but it was fun remembering this day!
Clay Aiken
On September 26, 2006, Clay Aiken was in Hollywood at the Virgin Records Store. He was there to sign his new CD, A Thousand Different Ways. He arrived at 1:00PM and was immediately surrounded by many fans who had waited a long time to get into the event. It wasn’t easy for the fans to get a autograph. They had to wear a special bracelet that they got at the CD release party the week before. A few fans were able to get the special bracelet in the morning when they arrived at the store.
A highlight of the event was a visit by Jimmy Kimmel who played the role of a “crazy” fan who was in love with Clay. Both Clay and Jimmy played their roles with enthusiasm and received lots of laughs.
When the CD signing was over, Clay hurried across the street to the El Capitan Theater to make an appearance and performance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show.

I was there that day and was lucky to have Clay sign his CD…and my friend took my picture as he was signing it I had it all framed and it’s still on my wall!! Thanks for the memories
I was there too – he signed CDs for over 4 hours! He was very nice, saying hi, asking how to spell our names, sometimes a joke or comment, but he signed 2-3 a minute at least! (Except for the Kimmel break, LOL) So sweet, he stayed until he got every one of us… His hand must have been in spasm the next day! Thanks so much for the memories and great vids.

Thank you so much for this, Musicfan. Thank you also for all of your great articles and posts. I was there for the entire thing. My friend Kathy Owen and I stayed in Hollywood the night before so we were able to get in line for both Virgin and Jimmy Kimmel's show very early 2nd in line for Kimmel. We traded places after I got my treasured Clay autograph. The show was wonderful and the after concert was sublime. Best Clay day ever!
