Aquariums, Zoos, and Museums to Host Celebrations for World Oceans Day on June 8th
Today, communities around the globe are celebrating World Oceans Day. This is an opportunity to learn more about our ocean and take action to help conserve it. This year the celebration is bigger than ever with hundreds of family-friendly events at aquariums, zoos, museums, exciting online events, and strong prospects for a new youth movement to protect the ocean!
Bill Mott is the director of The Ocean Project. He said:
“A record number of aquariums, zoos, and museums are providing ways on World Oceans Day for their visitors to get inspired and take personal action to help our world’s ocean. World Oceans Day provides an opportunity for people across the country and around the world to celebrate our ocean connections, do more for ocean conservation, and learn more about our ocean!”
I didn’t know about World Oceans Day until I was doing some research on Thursday. This would be a good day to take my grandkids to the zoo. Did you know about this?
One of my college chums sent me the following video. I enjoyed it and hope you will too. How is it related to Clay Aiken??? Well…if I stretch a bit, I could say it has a musical theme and….well I need to use the stairs more to lose some weight before I go to the Champions Gala in October. That’s the best I can do!!
It really is fun to see!!
I will be seeing you at the Gala!!! Cannot wait! As for the video at the end,….AMAZING!!!! That's definitely why I workout,…it's fun and I always feel 110% better (sorry, I couldn't help myself). LOL I'll be traveling all day on the 8th but if Bass Pro Superstore in Springfield is open when we go through there, we'll stop in and let the kiddos see the HUGE aquarium they have there. 🙂
Thanks Musicfan – the video is absolutely delightful – really fun!
I am excited to get my Gala ticket – have been waiting for the announcement of the date of the sale!
Musicfan, I've seen something like this before and it was so much fun! Loved it again! Nice way to get excercise before going to a Gala and seeing Clay Aiken!
Thanks for all the information on the Gala, Musicfan. I'm planning on going this year. Haven't been to one yet.
Loved the video of the stairs. What a great idea. Unfortunately for me, I would still have to take the escalator. Knees are shot, but if they didn't hurt, I would definitely be using those stairs. What fun!
Wow, those stairs are something else. Do they really play like a piano, when you walk on them? If so, I would be going up and down all day. Lol! Great information on the Gala. With all the entertainment, should be an awesome show. Wish I could afford to go. Maybe, if I win the Lottery. HaHa! Hope everyone who can, goes…after all, its for the children.
We miss you at ChP. Come back!
Lots of info today. I hope I can make it to the Gala….have to see how the next month goes.
Love the video…what a cool idea!!
Many thanks for the blog today!!
MOButtercup and musicfan….come back to ChP! We miss you both!
I guess I better search for my Telecharge login info and update my credit card. I need to be ready for when those tickets go on sale. I don't think I've used Telecharge since Spamalot.
