In 1954 the Erroll Garner Trio introduced an instrumental song titled “Misty.” About a year later, Johnny Burke penned the lyrics, creating the song that is well-known today. “Misty” remained relatively unknown until Johnny Mathis popularized the vocal version with his million-selling recording in 1959.
Although it was never a number one hit, “Misty” has been performed by hundreds of instrumentalists and vocalists.
Misty
Look at me, I’m as helpless as a kitten up a tree,
And I feel like I’m clinging to a cloud, I can’t understand,
I get misty, just holding your hand.
Walk my way, and a thousand violins begin to play,
Or it might be the sound of your hello, that music I hear,
I get misty, the moment you’re near…
Clay Aiken recorded this beautiful song for his Cd, Tried & True.
Hosaa put together a fun montage that features Clay Aiken and the song, Misty!
She wrote about the video:
Who knew “Misty” was such a wacky song?
Anyone who’s attended a Clay Aiken show knows that the banter and the bobbles are half the fun.

A big thank-you to hosaa for the fun video!
This video was a good way to begin a really cold & snowy day. It brings back memories of 1959 when I & 3 of my friends went to a dinner theater to see Johnny Mathis. Our table was right next to the stage. He sang Misty and we all swooned. Loved the show so much that we stayed for the 2nd show later that evening.
Thank you for all the pictures and the video. I love this song and the video is funny for the song Misty. Thank you to Hossa for the video. Thank you CANN.
