As the month of March is upon us, it is time to see what significant albums will be released this month. There are many albums available each week, but only a few will reach to the top of the charts. Here is a list of some of the new albums in March.
March 3
U2 No Line On The Horizon This is the group’s 12th studio album and their first release since 2004. Their last album, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb sold over 9 million copies and won 8 Grammy’s for the group.
Willie Nelson Live from the Last of the Breed Tour This album is advertised on Willie’s Official site. No other information can be found.
March 10
Kelly Clarkson All I Ever Wanted This 4th album by Kelly has been getting a lot of buzz and loads of radio play. Her last album, My December, sold 785,000.
Taylor Hicks The Distance Taylor has had two previous albums which sold a total of 707,400 copies.
March 17
Willie Nelson Naked Willie This is a new collection of 17 vintage RCA sides – spanning 1966-1970 – FINALLY the Willie way.
March 24
Pearl Jam TEN Ten, the debut album that sold 12 million copies and introduced the world to Pearl Jam in 1991, will be reissued in four (4) new and expanded editions.
Hannah Montana: The Movie Original Soundtrack This CD is loaded with music from today’s biggest artists…including 14 brand new songs by Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana, Billy Ray Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts. This soundtrack is without question the best of both worlds as it features hit tracks like “The Climb” from Miley Cyrus plus new songs from Hannah Montana.
March 31Clay Aiken Playlist: The Best of Clay Aiken This album is advertised as Clay’s perfect playlist and is being released through Legacy Recordings. Clay has sold over 5 million albums.
Diana Krall Quiet Nights Diana is in the middle of a tour as this CD is being released. Her last album, “The Very Best of Diana Krall”, sold 30,000 in the first week of its release.
Keith Urban Defying Gravity Urban recently announced that the lead single for his forthcoming 5th studio album will be titled “Sweet Thing.” Urban’s last album release was a re-recorded and re-named album Greatest Hits: 19 Kids on 19 August 2008.
It has been reported that CD sales have declined by over 14% in the last year. The music industry is changing and one can only hope that each of these artists can find their place in the evolving world of music.
