The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has asked Clay Aiken to be a presenter at its 20th Annual Media Awards Celebration. According to People Magazine, Aiken and T.R. Knight will join an array of top stars in the celebration.
Clay Aiken will be presenting the Excellence in Media Award to his good friend, Tyra Banks. She is being recognized for her commitment to featuring lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people on her shows.
According to Broadway World, The excellence in Media Award is very important.
“Actor and singer Clay Aiken will present the Excellence in Media Award to Tyra Banks. The Excellence in Media Award is presented to media professionals who, through their work, have increased the visibility and understanding of the LGBT community. As a long-time ally of the LGBT community, Banks has shown a strong commitment to educating the public about the lives of gay and transgender people. She has consistantly featured LGBT people on The Tyra Banks Show and continues to increase the visibility of the community through the diversity of her co-hosts and contestants on America’s Next Top Model, including her inclusion of Isis King, the show’s first transgender contestant, on the most recently completed cycle. Past recipients include Billy Crystal, Julianne Moore, Diane Sawyer, Glenn CLose, Patti LaBelle, Vanessa Redgrave, and Phil Donahue.”
The celebration will be on March 28th and will be held at the Marriott Marquis in New York.

I’m proud of Clay as well for doing this…He is a friend of Tyra, and I love the “Alliance against Defamation” cause I don’t know of anyone who has been knocked down more than Clay.
and He is standing up so that others won’t have to go through the hardship. GOD…I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!

I love that Clay and Tyra have remained close friends. Both are wonderful people.
I think this is a prestigious event for Clay to be included. I’m sure he is intereted in promoting rights for GLAAD.

It is very nice to see that he will be there personally to give this award to his good friend, Tyra Banks. We need more inclusion in this matter..and if anyone knows about inclusion..it is Clay.
