Clay Aiken – It’s Sunday!!

Today is Sunday and it will only be a few hours until we see Clay Aiken on TV.  It seems that Celebrity Apprentice has made Sunday the best day of the week.  As we count down the minutes, there are a few things that happened that are fun to think about.

Clay had a chance to meet up with his friend, Tyra Banks.  She was in Raleigh in her role as Keynote Speaker of  Women’s Empowerment 2012.  

According to the PNC Arena/ Radio One site:

Women’s Empowerment is a high energy, high profile event that targets African-American women of all ages and is attended by as many as 18,000 Radio One listeners…

…The event will feature a noteworthy motivational speech by a nationally recognized speaker. This year’s keynote speaker will be model, actress, media personality and author Tyra Banks. Banks is highly-recognized for her successful television shows “America’s Next Top Model” and “The Tyra Banks Show” and has been acknowledged as one of the most successful models of her generation.

Created in March 1994, in honor of Women’s History Month, Women’s Empowerment was designed to enhance the lives of African-American women by addressing issues that specifically impact their health, relationship and overall lifestyle.  Women’s Empowerment began in 1994 as a way to celebrate Women’s History Month, and although the event aims to empower women, it is not uncommon for men to attend.

Well, Clay Aiken was there to support his friend, Tyra and tweeted the following picture during a break.

 

The magazine, Maxim has a feature called 24 Hours To Live.  In their April, 2012 edition, they ask Adam Carolla some questions.  There are two questions that relate to Celebrity Apprentice:

Guy’s Guy and the Celebrity Apprentice contestant Adam Carolla has a podcast, a memoir, a brand-new app…and one last day…..

Which celebrity apprentice cast member would you most hate to be stuck with for all eternity?

Clay Aiken. He’s such a nice guy and one hell of a singer. If we were together for eternity, eventually I’d go gay for him.

What would your last words be to Donald Trump?

The people from the Make-A-Wish Foundation assured me that it would be OK to have sex with your daughter.

I received an e-mail about the up-coming Clay Aiken Fan Fest.  It seem that this annual event is growing each year.  It is a great event that raises much needed funds for The National Inclusion Project while Clay Aiken fans have a wonderful time.

This year, the event will take place on May 19-20, 2012, at the Yorktowne Hotel in York, PA.  The theme for the week-end is And The Beat Goes On…Jukebox Revisited.  There is a special “Viewing Party” on Sunday, the 20th so that the fans can watch Clay on Celebrity Apprentice together.  

Be sure and visit FANFEST  to find out about all the up-dates,  including information about the Fan Raffle, a special Raffle for VIP Gala tickets and the Viewing Party.  Cookie needs to know if you are planning on attending the event as she needs to confirm the plans with the venue in April.

 This event sounds like so much fun.  Why do I live on the other side of the country?  I wish I could be there to participate in all the fun and support The National Inclusion Project too!

Clay Aiken – A True Friend

When Americans watch television, they can’t miss the talent and reach of Tyra Banks. In 2003, Banks became a true pioneer in reality TV when she created, executive produced, and hosted the tremendously successful “America’s Next Top Model.” The show quickly became a phenomenon and was UPN’s most-watched program for six seasons.

With the launch of her syndicated daily talk show “The Tyra Banks Show,” Banks became one of the few women to be seen regularly on both daytime and primetime television. Premiered in 2005, the talk show quickly became one of the most popular new daytime programs on the air, and continues to boast the youngest audience in daytime.

On November 22, 2006, Clay Aiken was a guest on the Tyra Banks Show. It was a huge hit with the television audience and the live audience reported that it was one of the best shows they had ever seen.

The live audience saw Clay sing at the beginning of the show. He first sang “A Thousand Days.” Then, after a quick set change, he sang “Mary, Did You Know” that would be used on another show.

According to reports from audience members, the director planned on taping 2 segments of Clay and Tyra. However, the two stars just had so much fun together that they just kept filming.

More and more people from backstage filtered in to watch and listen as the show went on and on. The serious man who held the cue cards began to laugh… a lot. Two of the cameramen were grinning ear-to-ear the entire show. The young director talked and laughed with Clay during the breaks. They all seemed to be having a great time.

During one of the breaks, Quiana came out onto the set and stood behind the couch talking to Clay. Clay turned to the audience and told the story of how Quiana had beaten him in his first AI audition. He said he wished they could hear her sing. Quiana acted rather shy and started to leave. The warmup man gave chase and dragged her back out and gave her a microphone. Clay said to Tyra, “If I get her to sing, will you tell her about your hair weave?” Tyra agreed. Quiana then blew away the place with “I Will Always Love You.” The warmup guy commented about what kind of a guy Clay was and how rare it was to see a big star do something like that. He later said Clay was the best interview they had ever had.

Fortunately, we have videos of the show. We don’t get to see the fun backstage antics, but we can see how relaxed Clay and Tyra were as they talked to each other.

If you watch the videos, you will see talk about Clay’s changing looks, his allergies and even a short segment when Clay interviewed Tyra. Oh yes, even a small kiss!!

The three videos take a bit more than 30 minutes, but they are so worth it. We can all hope that there will be another fun interview with these two good friends.

Clay Aiken – Best Friends!

Today is Best Friend’s Day, a day to celebrate your BFF.

Friends may come and go over the years, but best friends are forever! National Best Friend Day is an annual “holiday” held on June 8th. Also known as Best Friend Day or Best Friend’s Day, it’s a wonderful opportunity to remind that special person in your life how much he or she means to you.

And it doesn’t have to cost an arm-and-a-leg to show that special person how much you care.   Why not give that one-of-a-kind BFF a call, invite him or her out to lunch or whip up a batch of his or her favorite sweet treats today? Make a new friend by visiting an area retirement center.  As many lead very hectic and busy lives, why not make a pledge to be an even better friend this year?

No one lights up your life like your best friend. So take the time to cherish that one person who won’t judge you, who knows you better than you know yourself, and that is by your side when no one else is strong enough to be.

Eleanor Roosevelt said it best:

“Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only right friends will leave footprints in your heart.”

Clay Aiken seems to have many friends who play a special role in his life.  Maybe some of these people are his Best Friends!  These friends are placed in random order.  Do you have someone you would like to add to this list?

Clay Aiken – Training Together!

Thursday was full of fun surprises for fans of Clay Aiken.  It seemed like Clay’s name was everywhere.

There were at least nine Internet sites that posted the new pictures of Clay and Tyra Banks taking a subway trip in New York.  It was good to see pictures of Clay, however, the 40 pictures the photographer from Wenn took seem a bit over the top.  I mean…..it was just two people talking as they rode the subway.  The following are two of the sites that carried the pictures.

Star Tracks, a section of People. Com posted the following about the duo’s trip:

You never know whom you’ll bump into on the MTA! Tyra Banks and Clay Aiken keep each other company Wednesday while taking the subway in New York.

Former “American Idol” runner-up Clay Aiken and supermodel gal pal Tyra Banks took their relationship underground … and rode the NYC subway together on Wednesday.

Another short article was published on Fox All Access. The site has a great picture of Clay, a link to a short audio of Clay talking about musical influences and a nice write-up.   Why not give this site a hit and leave a short comment.  It is a positive mention.  Now, lets hope they fix the typo in the headline!  The short article says:

CLAY AIKEN HONORED TO BE COMPARED TO ELTON JOHN

Aiken has certainly been doing his share of performing and singing. He released a new album entitled “Tried And True”, and recently wrapped his summer tour with his buddy, American Idol winner Ruben Studdard.

Aiken is taking some time off before he goes back on tour in early 2011. However, you can bet that he is already thinking about his next album. Ever since he competed on American Idol, Aiken has sung songs from many different musical genres, from pop songs, to the good old standard songs. We caught up with Aiken and asked who music influence and he didn’t have many influences but if he had to say one it’s Elton John. (Click on the audio player to hear Clay Aiken)


Another surprise showed up on the Internet on Thursday.  Sony Music is offering a new CD named Super Hits of Clay Aiken.  This is an easy way for RCA/Sony to make some easy money.  They own the rights to the songs and so the expense of putting this album out is rather small.  I tend to think that if this album were important to Clay, he would have mentioned it to us.

Clay Aiken – Missing The Talent Of Tyra

When Americans watch television, they can’t miss the talent and reach of Tyra Banks. In 2003, Banks became a true pioneer in reality TV when she created, executive produced, and hosted the tremendously successful “America’s Next Top Model.” The show quickly became a phenomenon and was UPN’s most-watched program for six seasons.

With the launch of her syndicated daily talk show “The Tyra Banks Show,” Banks became one of the few women to be seen regularly on both daytime and primetime television.  Premiered in 2005, the talk show quickly became one of the most popular new daytime programs on the air, and continues to boast the youngest audience in daytime.

According to People.com, Tyra Banks announced that this will be the last season of the popular talk show.  The show will finish its fifth season in the spring of 2010.

Tyra Banks and Clay Aiken have both said that they are good friends.  They have dined together and seem to genuinely enjoy each others company.  Tyra asked Clay to introduce her at the GLAAD Media Awards last March.

Their public friendship was obvious when Clay Aiken was a guest on Tyra’s successful talk show in 2006.  They had a great time and looked relaxed and happy as they chatted together.  We can only hope that Clay will be able to visit Tyra’s show again before it is over.

Tyra will be launching a New York-based film production company called Bankable Studios and is currently reviewing some projects.  Her goal is to bring “positive images of women to the big screen,” according to an industry insider.  Tyra has stated that she hopes that this will allow her to reach more women and young girls in a positive way.

The insider said of the career move:

“Tyra is sad because she’ll be missing so much of the daily connection to her viewers, but excited at the same time to be taking on a new challenge.”

Tyra is not leaving TV completely.  Her show, America’s Next Top Model will return for its 14th season in February.  She will also be involved in a show on ABC titled True Beauty.

The following message was left on Tyra’s web-site today:

“There’s a lot cooking right now and a lot of fire burning in my heart and I salute you my amazing family of viewers; without you there never would have been a Tyra Show. I really love you all.”

I know we posted the following videos in November.  However, they are wonderful and show both the talent of Tyra and the friendship between Clay and Tyra.  If you didn’t have a chance to see them before, I hope you can now.
