On April 30, 2008, Tyra Banks celebrated her 500th show. Called the 500th Episode Spectacular, Tyra used the show to give back to New York, the city that welcomed her when her talk show moved there.
Tyra did many things on this special show. She helped Mayor Bloomberg plant a tree for his “Million Tree NYC” and gave out free Metro cards and fashion advice to commuters in Union Square. Tyra gave out Yankee tickets and received surprise messages from Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama, Jimmy Kimmel and Debra Messing. Mayor Bloomberg proclaimed April 30 as “The Tyra Banks Show” Day.
But, for Clay Aiken fans, the highlight of the show was the 16 year old girl who won the opportunity to meet Clay at the stage door of the Spamalot. Tara was told that she was one of five finalists and was super surprised when she finally met Clay. The only disappointment about the show was that the meeting with Clay was too short.

Twitter has brought us some news from New York. It seems that Clay has been busy yesterday and today, meeting with some of his good friends.
Monday night, it was reported that Clay and his good friend Tyra Banks had dinner at Houston’s on Park Avenue. Houston’s is known for its delicious Spinach Dip. Do you think they started their meal with this?
Tuesday, Diane Sawyer joined Clay in the afternoon at the exclusive Gotham Lounge in the Peninsula Hotel. I wonder if they were partaking of the famous High Tea that the Gotham Lounge hosts in the afternoon. Whatever they were doing, it is nice to know that Clay has so many wonderful friends who are also important in the entertainment industry.

Everything seems to be moving at a slow pace. If you check the Clay Aiken message boards, the frantic posting has let up, the numbers at Clay’s MySpace page are slowing down and the chat rooms are waiting to be filled.
It had to happen……..afterall, yesterday the ClayNation was very busy. Clay was on TV.
All joking aside, the fans of Clay Aiken are still celebrating his wonderful role on America’s Next Top Model. Clay’s acting skills were wonderful and he was a thoughtful and helpful judge.
Clay’s fans were not the only ones who enjoyed his performance on Wednesday night. The internet was full of positive reviews by both the press and the bloggers.

This week has been exciting. We had the anticipation of the television appearance, then the fun of watching Clay on the show and now the thrill of knowing that the general viewing audience fell in love with Clay and his wonderful talents. We need this every week!!

Where were you on Wednesday night at 8pm? Many were in front of the television, waiting for the grand entrance of actor/entertainer, Clay Aiken. Some fans were in chat rooms, sharing the excitement with their internet friends while others shared the show with their patient family members. But most of Clay’s fans were right there, ready to see Clay on TV.
Instead of posting a synopsis of the show, I though it would be fun to share some comments from fans who posted their thoughts about the show. Thanks to all of the fans who gave me permission to quote them. Each comment put a great spin on the show.

Wow, that was great! During the acting challenge, I could see that Clay had great fun but also did not lose sight of the fact that this was an important challenge for the girls and he seemed to be drawing them out in hopes of getting them to give their best performances. And his judging panel comments were so insightful and caring. Well then of course they would be…it’s Clay. What a great job he did overall. I don’t watch the show normally but it was a complete pleasure. Oh…and I loved hearing him laugh!

I think that Clay had great insight. He stated his opinion and looked at the entire picture to judge the girls. He came across as comfortable and confident. He’s a natural.

I very much enjoyed seeing Clay on TV and what he did, I think he did extremely well. When “acting”, Clay showed his comedic ability and when judging, he showed the man who really cares about people and their feelings. Tonight we saw the Clay we all love …. but not enough of him!

“It was so wonderful to see Clay on my TV again. He just lights up the screen!! I wish I could have been a fly on the wall to hear what he had to say to the girls. Clay is the perfect mentor, having starred in a Broadway play with little acting experience – he needed to learn fast, both acting and dancing – there would have been no room to be hesitant or tentative. Also, having the American Idol background, he understands the pressure of being on a reality television show and how to take what the judges say and put it into practice. My only complaint is he wasn’t on enough!!”

Some new video of Clay Aiken has been released today by E-Online. It is fun to see new information about Clay’s performance on TV this week. However, isn’t it too bad that E seems to forget to check their facts. According to their site, Clay is, at this time, involved in Spamalot on Broadway. Hmmmm!!!

At 11:00 am, the Associated Press reporter, Martha Waggoner interviewed Clay Aiken by telephone. Since that time, the interview has been picked up by at least 105 different news sources. If you check Google, Clay is everywhere.
There were a few things that seemed to stand out in this interview. First, there was no question about Clay watching American Idol this season…….old news!! Second, Clay still dresses for comfort, and third, he is not talking to the public about his son, Parker.
The last two sentences of the article are exciting to read and bode well for Clay’s future in the entertainment industry.
Aiken’s recording contract with RCA has ended, and he said he’s considering other labels, while also looking at stage and television offers. “all three look enticing, and I’m in the luxurious position of letting them sit down and come to me,” he said.
