Clay Aiken – Support TBAF

On April 10, 2009, we reported about “Dancing LikeThe Stars”, the exciting fundraiser for The Bubel/Aiken Foundation.

Local celebrities will be participating on April 26th by dancing at the competition during the Southern Women’s Show at the State Fairgrounds.

Last week, the two contestants representing NBC posted videos of their practices.  So, not to be outdone, the two contestants from WRAL-TV posted videos of their adventures in dance.  Valonda Calloway and Monica Laliberte are both anchors at WRAL and have been practicing hard with their professional partner.

All proceeds from the contest benefit the Bubel/Aiken Foundation, which was co-founded in 2003 by Raleigh native Clay Aiken. The nonprofit promotes the inclusion of children with disabilities in activities with children who are not disabled.

This is the second year that this fundraiser has taken place.  It is wonderful to see the Raleigh Broadcast media supporting the foundation.

The first video is Valonda Calloway and the second is Monica Laliberte.

  1. What a great event, and how wonderful that the BAF benefits from this…. Sure looks like they are having fun.

Didn’t Faye and her partner win last year? I did see a clip of that, and Faye was wonderful…. It’s all good……

Thanks Cann, I love all these little tidbits….It’s what makes us so diversified…!!!!

    Hugs,

  2. What a great show to put on to benefit TBAF. I remember very well when Faye danced..and won! She was wonderful. I think I already found my favorite in these two video’s. But, there both very good.

  3. I’m glad that something as popular now as DWTS can benefit The Bubel Aiken Foundation. How fun for the people involved!!

  4. I remember that Faye participated last year or the year before in the local DWTS. I’m glad a local group is helping TBAF for Clay Aiken.

  5. Thanks for posting the videos of the DWTS competition. Hoping Clay Aiken’s charity benefits lots from this.

  6. How fun!!!! Looks like a blast and I hope it’s a successful fundraiser for The Bubel/Aiken Foundation 😀

  7. I’ve seen some spin-offs of AI to raise money, but this is the only one I have heard of from DWTS. This type of dancing would take a lot of time and practice. Great event to raise funds!
