Clay Aiken Celebrates World Smile Day

Did you know that today is World Smile Day?

Harvey Ball, a commercial artist, was the man that created the smiley face in 1963. It is now the most recognized symbol of good will and cheer on the planet.

Ball chose the first Friday in October to celebrate World Smile Day. The first World Smile Day was held in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1999.  According to Ball,

“the smiley face knows no politics, no geography and no religion . . . for at least one day each year, neither should we.”

World Smile Day’s slogan “Do an act of kindness. Help one person smile!” is one of the best sayings anyone could chose to live by.

If you’re looking for a reason to perform an act of kindness with a smile on your face, today is the perfect day to get your Smile On!

Clay Aiken has one of the best smiles!!  Check out these pictures.

  1. Other than Clay's amazing voice, his smile was the first thing I noticed about him. That smile reaches his eyes. You're right, he could be the poster boy for World Smile Day 😀

  2. Well…I love all the pics, but I especially like #1…Clay just looks joyful!!!!! from the inside out…

I hope everyone has brightened up someone's day, somewhere, whether it be your child, parent, the drive-in window at a fast food place…. A smile is contageous…pass it around…

When the world is off kilter right now with all this bullying…Could this not be a more perfect time for World Smile Day???? Brighten someone's life!!!! by doing so, you brighten yours…

    Hugs,
    Judy

  3. Musicfan,

You are right — Clay Aiken could definitely be the poster person for National Smile Day. Thnx for sharing these photos and the info, too.

    Have a super weekend!

  4. I am smiling, too. Just received the DVD of Tried and True from the pledge drive in the mail and spent the last hour watching it. Just like watching the taping back in March in Raleigh. Clay's smile lights up my life.

  5. It's a toss-up between #1 and #5 for me. Soooo hard to choose. I just love Clay's smile. He has one of those smiles that takes over his whole face and just makes me happy when I see it. I think everybody should try to smile at least once a day…it's good for your health..and everyone else's health too.
