Clay Aiken – A Busy Morning!

One morning – three conventions!  That was part of  Clay Aiken’s schedule on Saturday!

The Democratic Party of Union County held its Annual Convention on Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. The event was held at the historic Old Armory Community Center in Monroe.  Many of the local candidate for the 2014 election joined Clay to address the audience.  The following tweet produced some information about this event.

@clayaiken spent the morning at the Union County Democratic Convention where I was elected to the 9th Congressional District as a delegate!!

Clay’s second convention was the Lee County Democratic Convention in Sanford.  It was held at the Lee County Courthouse.

Clay had the opportunity to speak to the assembly.

Finally, Clay spoke with the Harnett County Democrats.

Busy Saturday morning! Glad to be with @HarnettCoDems.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find out anything more about this meeting.

If I get more information, I will add to to this article.

I thought it might be interesting to see some of the important up-coming dates for the election.

Upcoming dates for Election 2014 in North Carolina:

Apr. 11 – Deadline to register to vote in primary

Apr. 24 – May 3 – Early voting period for primary

Apr. 29 – Last day to request absentee ballot for primary

TUESDAY, MAY 6 – PRIMARY ELECTION DAY

Oct. 10 – Deadline to register to vote in general election

Oct. 23 – Nov. 1 – Early voting period for general election

Oct 28 – Last day to request absentee ballot for general election

TUESDAY, NOV. 4 – ELECTION DAY

I sure hope that Clay has convinced lots of people to register to vote.  It’s one of the most important steps in the entire year!

Since it is Sunday, I hope that Clay can have a quiet morning and enjoy a few minutes of relaxation.

If and when we get more news about Clay and the campaign, I will post it here.

  1. It's a good thing that Clay is young. His schedule is brutal.

Thank you for another interesting blog. I really like to follow all that Clay is doing and I know you will always let us know!

  2. Thank you Martha. At least we get lots of "clack" and can follow our man on his new journey. He has been well prepared for this by his many tours. I miss him but I realize that a great man like this must share his talents where he feels they are needed. I hope for him what he hopes for himself. 🙂

  3. Clay can sure engage in many talks/visits during a 24 hr. period! Maybe his years touring on a bus has enabled him to pace himself and keep his energy level up. Wish I could vote for Clay in May.
