Do you remember when Clay Aiken was on the Top 8 show of American Idol in Season 2? The theme for the night was Billboard #1 Hits. Lionel Richie was the guest judge. Clay sang At This Moment by Billy Vera and the Beaters. In a surprising turn of events, Simon complimented Clay by saying:
That song was perfect for you. Absolutely on the money…Well Done!!
Yes…it was an excellent performance.

That was a very special night because Simon loved Clay’s performance of the song. Clay looked good (as usual) that evening and the crowd loved him. I didn’t miss a single evening of AI 2.
