In July of 2021, Clay Aiken was in Pittsburgh for a few days. He was the Guest Host for the

Pittsburgh CLO 75th Anniversary Celebration

As host to the audience, Clay had a chance to tease and chat with the audience. But…most people were there to hear Clay sing. Clay had four outfits for the show. Each one was fun to see and matched with whatever he was singing.

I was told that Clay made a crack to the audience regarding “Liberace”.

Clay and the rest of the cast started the entertainment with an original song about the 75th celebration…

Clay led the cast as they sang and danced to the Barry Manilow song, “Copa Cabana”.

According to those who were there, Clay’s featured song was

“What Kind of Fool I Am.”

The Cast and Clay sang the final song: “Season of Love”. (from Rent).

I have heard so many people who were excited about Clay and the cast. They thought that Clay sang with control, but with excitement.

Clay and the cast performed this program on both Thursday and Friday evenings. They did again, perform at Heinz Field.

  1. This was all very interesting – haven’t seen too many pics from this event. Looks like Clay was a very good host. I have only seen one Broadway show – “The Most Happy Fella” – way back – in the 50’s! Many, many, years ago. It was a fabulous weekend. Thank you to those that helped with the pics and have given us a chance to see them – they are very appreciated!

  2. Thank you for all the pictures. I love all the pictures. Thank you to all the people who sent in the pictures. I love Broadway Shows. I did see a Broadway Show back in the 60’s. I did not see Clay in this show. Maybe Clay will be back on Broadway again. Thank you CANN.

  3. Besides his beautiful voice, Clay is a natural at being a host! He engages with his audience with his radiant smile and his welcoming presence! There is a podcast about the 75th anniversary with PLO with Patrick Cassidy as Host and also cast members from the show. They were praising Clay on how well his hosting talents! Thank you CANN for sharing
