Congratulations to Christopher Sieber! It was announced this morning that Christopher was nominated as Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical by the Outer Critics Circle.
Chris originated the role of Lord Farquaad in “Shrek the Musical” which opened on Broadway on December 14, 2008.
Before starting the role as Lord Farquaad, Christopher Sieber starred in Spamalot as Sir Dennis Galahad, another role he originated.
Besides the nomination for Sieber, “Shrek the Musical” earned 9 more nominations. This year, it tied with Billy Elliott as the show that earned the most nominations.
The Outer Critics Circle Awards have been presented annually for 59 years. The Awards honor theatrical achievements in Broadway and Off- Broadway. The awards are decided by theater critics who cover the New York theaters for out-of-town newspapers, national publications, and other media outlets outside of New York.
On Thursday, May 21, 2009, the Outer Critics Circle Awards Dinner will be held at Sardi’s at 4:00pm.

I am glad to see Chris get this award. He was incredibly talented in Spamalot and I am sure equally as talented in Shrek. Plus he seems like a really nice human being. Way to go , Chris!
