Clay Aiken – Always Fun To Watch

Yesterday was Thanksgiving.  I hope that you had a wonderful day and enjoyed every moment!

For many years it was a Thanksgiving tradition in my family to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  It was always fun to watch.

The following are a few fun facts about the parade:

  • Approximately 3.5 million people attend the parade and an additional 50 million viewers watch on TV.
  • The first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was in 1924.
  • Live animals — including lions, bears, tigers, camels, goats, elephants, and donkeys — were a part of the original Parade processions.
  • Macy’s is the world’s second largest consumer of helium, after the U.S. government.
  • The average size of a float is 2.5 stories tall, and roughly 3 lanes of traffic wide.
  • The parade was featured on national television for the first time in 1947.

I found some fun pictures of Clay Aiken at the 2003 Macy’s Parade.  I thought you might enjoy them.  Remember to click on them to get the original size.

I would love to see Clay in the Macy’s Parade again…how about you?
