Clay Aiken – Washington DC Dinner

On May 1, 2004, Clay Aiken was an invited guest at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner.

According to Wikipedia, the WHCA’s annual dinner begun in 1920 and has become a Washington D.C. tradition. It is usually attended by the President and Vice President. Thirteen presidents have attended a WHCA dinner, beginning with Calvin Coolidge in 1924.

In 2004, Jay Leno was the master of ceremonies for the dinner which has become a form of a roast of the President and his Washington Colleagues.

This year, the Correspondents Dinner will be held on May 9, 2009.  Wanda Sykes will be the hostess and featured entertainer.

Clay attended the annual dinner and looked handsome as he wore his long coat suit. After the dinner, he attended the Bloomberg News party.
The dinner was televised on C-SPAN, but Clay was never spotted during the broadcast.

  1. I do remember watching some of the C-Span footage hoping to catch a glimpse of Clay Aiken in that beautiful long coat! He stands out in a crowd, but this time I couldn’t find him!
