The number one song was This Is The Night, sung by the fabulous singer, Clay Aiken!!  Can you imagine?  That was 11 years ago!!

Were you watching American Idol when Clay sang This Is The Night for the first time? I was watching and it certainly made me smile.

Clay also sang the song at The Miss America Pageant

And…on May 28, 2003

Good Morning America

Then, on The View on July 30th, 2003

  1. Yes, I did buy “This Is The Night”/”Bridge Over Troubled Water” as soon as the single hit stores. Oddly enough, I played these two songs multiple times this afternoon as I was in my car running errands!! I will never tire of the legacy of music Clay has given us!

  2. I've only known about Clay for 4 years when I first heard him sing BOTW on Utube, since then I haven't stopped listening to his singing, I have all his cds etc., he's my favorite singer.

  3. I remember Clay singing TITN that night on AI2 and was so excited when he sang it at the Miss America pageant and many times after that. I do have that very first CD and every one he recorded after it. Could not open the video you posted above.

    • So sorry about the video…It is still working for me. Are you trying to open it up on a computer or a tablet/phone??

Is anyone else having a problem??

  4. Thanks Musicfan…Love going back and re-living it all over again. What fun!
We all get that look on our faces, when he sings…his voice just takes over a room.

  5. oh..just wanted to say, that I still have the single, and another one still in the package. As much as I love BOTW…I believe that Clay's "live" version from AI was much better. You could hear his voice much clearer, and his voice was front and centre. As it should be.
