Clay Aiken – He Will Always Be A Winner!

By musicfan123 · Comments 16374(0)http%3A%2F%2Fclaynewsnetwork.com%2F2012%2F05%2F25%2Fclay-aiken-he-will-always-be-a-winner%2FClay+Aiken+-+He+Will+Always+Be+A+Winner%212012-05-25+08%3A16%3A22musicfan123http%3A%2F%2Fclaynewsnetwork.com%2F%3Fp%3D16374
Friday, May 25th, 2012

This past week has produced the finale of many shows on television.  Having been so involved with the finale of Celebrity Apprentice, I forgot about the finale of American Idol…and it looks like I wasn’t the only one who forgot to watch.

The two-hour season finale of Fox’s ”American Idol” was the least watched finale in the show’s history with a smaller audience than even Season 1′s finale — which aired in the summer.

It was reported that 21.5-million people tuned in to see Phillip Phillips get voted the winner of the 11th season finale of the singing competition. The show was featured many well-known musical stars, including John Fogerty, Reba McEntire and Rhianna.  The show also featured a performance by Steven Tyler who performed with his band Aerosmith.

Those numbers represent a 26% drop from last season’s finale, which had an audience of almost 30 million. In its first season, which was during the summer of 2002, the finale of “American Idol” averaged 23 million viewers. The first season show that crowned Kelly Clarkson the title of American Idol aired in early September when television watching is lower than the late spring.

Season two posted the highest numbers of all, with a 16.8/37 Nielson rating and 38 million viewers.  This decline has culminated in a 6.3/19 this past season with 21.5 million viewers. The first number in the Nielson rating represents the percentage of TVs tuned to that station.   The second number represents the percentage of people watching TV at that time who are tuned to that program.

According to Joe Flint at the Los Angeles Times:

While Wednesday’s ratings clearly indicate “American idol” is showing its age, the show is still a massive hit, with tremendous staying power for its age.

On the business side, “American Idol” is still a cash cow for the network. Fox executives have promised to fine-tune “American Idol” in the off-season. The show also has to figure out whether Jennifer Lopez will return as a judge.

The following list from Deadline Hollywood lists each season and the numbers

WEDNESDAY-09/04/2002 8:00 PM-10:00 PM 23.021 million –Kelly Clarkson

WEDNESDAY-05/21/2003 9:00 PM-10:00 PM 38.060 million – Ruben Studdard

WEDNESDAY-05/26/2004 8:00 PM-10:02 PM 28.839 million – Fantasia Barrino

WEDNESDAY-05/25/2005 8:00 PM-10:01 PM 30.269 million – Carrie Underwood

WEDNESDAY-05/24/2006 8:00 PM-10:04 PM 36.383 million – Taylor Hicks

WEDNESDAY-05/23/2007 8:00 PM-10:09 PM 30.755 million –Jordin Sparks

WEDNESDAY-05/21/2008 8:00 PM-10:06 PM 31.688 million – David Cook

WEDNESDAY-05/20/2009 8:00 PM-10:07 PM 28.838 million – Kris Allen

WEDNESDAY-05/26/2010 8:00 PM-10:07 PM 24.215 million – Lee DeWyze

WEDNESDAY-05/25/2011 8:00 PM-10:07 PM 29.288 million – Scotty McCreery

WEDNESDAY-05/23/2012 8:00 PM-10:07 PM 21.5 million – Phillip Phillips

Although I do not watch American Idol anymore, I do appreciate the show because it introduced Clay Aiken to the world.  To me, he will always be a winner.

The following is one of Clay’s performances from the finale of Season Two.  Nobody has even come close to performing so well on the show.

Did you watch American Idol this year?

Clay Aiken – Sunday Reviews,Part 2

The following are a few more article about Clay Aiken and Celebrity Apprentice.  Be sure you check out the previous article to see the reviews I posted late last night.

I wish I had pictures to post.. I am sure we will get them soon!!

Arsenio Hall and Clay Aiken Vie For Victory With Help From Old Frenemies

By Dan Hyman

… For Aiken, who came in second to Ruben Studdard on American Idol back in 2003, there’s a sense of unfinished business. “This time I ain’t gonna lose,” he says. “I will sleep when it’s all over. Until then, game on!”

… The teams break off and hit the ground running. Team Clay, stocked with music-minded members, is going to put on a music-centric event. Aiken’s charity is the National Inclusion Project, a foundation he helped create that aims to help include disabled children with their non-handicapped peers. The team’s motto for their carnival-themed event is “Let’s ALL Play.” O’Day, having been picked last and snubbed by Hall, is out for revenge. “I really think Arsenio is dirt,” she says with a vindictive glimmer in her eye. “I hope Clay wins.”

… With so many contestants now back in the fold, it’d be safe to assume there would be boatloads of crazy drama. Ironically though, there’s almost none. Each former contestant, from O’Day and Giudice planning the respective events to Gibson arranging the music, appears happy to help out. Tempers do flare, however, when Aiken and Gibson go at it regarding a mural for the event that is to be painted by Gibson’s cousin. Aiken says he doesn’t want this to happen unless he can see a sketch of what it will look like. And Gibson? Well, she thinks Aiken is being a micromanaging nutjob. Tears nearly flow.

CBS NEWS – Celebrity Circuit – Transparency leaves another contestant behind

By Lauren Moraski

… Making it to the final three wasn’t easy. Aubrey O’Day surprised naysayers by staying in the game as long as she did. The pop singer stayed strong until the end, but on Sunday night, she fell short, leaving it to former late night host Arsenio Hall and singer Clay Aiken to duke it out.

… Both teams hustled to prepare for the final event, with Aiken tapping Gibson to arrange music, and Hall suggesting that Magic Johnson appear in his PSA.

US Weekly – Clay Aiken, Arsenio Hall Advance to Finale

By Allison Corneau

… Here’s hoping history doesn’t repeat itself for Clay Aiken.

Earning a spot in Donald Trump‘s final two on The Celebrity Apprentice Sunday, Aiken, 33, will face off against pal Arsenio Hall, 56, for bragging rights on next week’s live finale show.

… “I am not that heavy!” Hall joked, referring to Aiken’s 2003 Idol competitor Ruben Studdard.

… Later, O’Day channeled her anger to help Aiken plan a carnival-themed variety show and 30-second charity PSA, along with Penn Jillette, Debbie Gibson, and Dee Snider.

OMG from Yahoo – Celebrity Apprentice Shocker- Aubrey O’Day Is Fired

By Kim Jacobs Walker

… Donald Trump took a stand for professional behavior this week on “The Celebrity Apprentice,” and shocked a lot of viewers who expected Aubrey O’Day to advance to the finale. The Donald fired her.

… Aubrey, like Narcissus, was too busy admiring her own reflection in the pool of creative ideas she contributed to recognize that others shared in the successes of each project. Aubrey was all about Aubrey. Matlin and Rich found her motivations “transparent,” and her behavior immature.

… Surprisingly, Clay seems to be having a harder time managing his team. Trying to rein in Aubrey’s copious ideas for decorating the venue got him into a lather, which carried over to his interactions with Debbie. Aubrey wanted to paint the walls, which Clay thought was overkill. Debbie tried to help by offering to get her cousin, a professional mural painter, to do the job for them.

As the day progresses, I will add more info when it becomes available.  There are many other articles out there, but they really are short and have very little special things to say.  The hardest thing this week is finding pictures.  I will continue to look for them!!

Clay Aiken – The Pressure Is On!

Photo From CBS

What an amazing day for Clay Aiken.  He started Sunday by appearing on CBS’ Face the Nation on a panel about gay marriage.  Aiken seemed at ease throughout his section of the program and spoke with knowledge and passion about the topic.  He certainly held his own as he talked with the seasoned members of the panel.

Almost 12 hours later, it was announced that Clay was a finalist on the show, Celebrity Apprentice.  Up against Arsenio Hall, Clay was busy planning a huge fund-raiser for his charity, The National Inclusion Project.

The following are some of the many articles and reviews that have already been published.  As in the past weeks,  I have quoted a few Clay mentions from the articles and provided a link so that you can read the entire article.  And, if you have time, a positive comment left at the sites is a good way to show the site you appreciate their article about Clay.

The screen-caps today are from the CB

Clay’s Take – Week 14 – And Then There Were Two

… Well… I guess one way to look at it all is… I now can’t do any worse on this show than I did on my last one.

… I also knew I would like to have Penn. I respect Penn’s mind. He’s brilliant and creative, and I wanted Mr. Trump (AND PENN) to know that I harbored no ill will against him.

… Debbie Gibson is a musical prodigy. She may sing her stuff a LOT!! ;-) But when it comes to writing music, arranging and playing, she is like few people I have ever met. Building a medley of songs and getting them arranged in a great way was so important. Debbie was my first musical pick.

Be sure and stop by Clay’s blog and read the entire article.  Clay’s backstage info is so interesting…and don’t forget to leave a comment.  Clay could use our support this week! You can find the blog at CLAYSTAKE

EW.COM – That Magic Moment

By Dalton Ross

… Once Aubrey was dismissed, Clay Aiken began experiencing American Idol déjà vu. Would he once again lose out on an elusive reality show title? You know, Clay and Ruben Studdard had such a nice friendship. They were complete opposites — one big and black, the other lanky and white — but they shared one thing in common, an incredible ability to reach out and touch audiences through the power of song. I think when you look back at their relationship on American Idol, however, what really stands out the most is the fact that Ruben never once threatened “getting in your ass.”

… Cut to Aubrey looking mortified at being unpicked and taking the walk of shame over to Clay’s team. “Haters are hating once again,” she informed us. They certainly are.

… Outside of Magic Johnson talking to nobody, Arsenio has had a pretty smooth ride so far. No so for Clay, who spent half of the task wandering the streets of New York while getting yelled at by little league baseball coaches and making little kids break the law by hopping a fence to shoot his ad in a restricted area. And then things got even worse when he met up with the rest of the team. Little did Clay realize he would be butting heads constantly with Crystal Light songstress Debbie Gibson.

… Then came Round 3, in which Clay and Debbie argued about the mural that Debbie’s cousin was going to paint. Clay was insistent that nothing go on the wall until he could approve a sketch of it. As Project Manager, that’s smart. I mean, no offense, but are you going to trust a $250,000 prize to Debbie Gibson’s cousin? What if she puts up a big mural of the Electric Youth album cover? You can’t risk it. “Paint will not go on the wall unless I’ve seen some sketches,” said Clay. Before all was said and done, Debbie was calling Clay “insecure” and Clay was correcting how Debbie spoke on the phone to her own cousin. Which is exactly the type of cliffhanger drama you want heading into a finale. Well, that and a very confused man standing sideways.

Dalton always writes a great blog.  Be sure and click on EWCOM to read the entire article.

A.V.Club – And Then There Were Two

By Margaret Eby

… Aubrey gets chosen last, but she has tentative support for her manager. “Clay’s always bugged me as a person,” she said, “but now I kind of like him.”

… The collection of players on Clay’s team are almost all musicians, except for Penn, who Clay chose specifically to show that he could work with someone he doesn’t agree with. He’s also got Aubrey under his wing. She’s enthusiastic, but hard to reign in.

… Clay also smartly delegates a specific task to everyone off the bat. Debbie does music, Aubrey’s in charge of decoration, and Penn and Dee work on the PSA.

…  The major drama on their team is between Debbie and Clay, after Debbie gets her cousin to take off work and paint a mural. Clay won’t have her start until he sees a mock-up of her idea, which frustrates Debbie to no end.

TheaterMania – Clay Aiken Named Finalist On NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice

By Brian Scott Lipton
Broadway star and singer Clay Aiken and comedian Arsenio Hall are the finalists on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, with the winner to be revealed on Sunday, May 20. The winner will receive $250,000. The series is hosted by business mogul Donald Trump

Aiken is perhaps best known for his appearances on FOX’sAmerican Idol, and was seen on Broadway in Monty Python’s Spamalot, playing the role of Sir Robin. He has also released numerous CD, including his most recent one, Stead Fast.

E-ONLINE – Will Clay Aiken or Arsenio Hall Crack Under Pressure?

By Rebecca Macatee

…Clay decided to put on a musical show, asking Debbie for musical advice and Penn to help write and conceptualize. Clay and Debbie, however, quickly began to spar over music choices and Debbie’s desire to have her cousin to paint a mural without Clay seeing any sketches beforehand.

…  Clay, a former special education teacher, was happy and right in his element when working with children for a National Inclusion Project PSA—the National Inclusion Project provides a program model for recreational programs so that all different types of kids can play together.

… Clay and his team seemed to be focusing on every detail of their production, and not concentrating on raising funds.

NJ.com – Arsenio Hall vs. Clay Aiken (vs. lots of egos)

By Vicki Hyman

… In the opening boardroom, Clay tells Trump he belongs in the finale because he’s a hard worker and he’s been considered a strong player throughout — plus he’s been on the winning team seven times.

… Create, host and sell tickets to a celebrity variety show, plus create a 30-second commercial for their charities. The winner gets the grand prize, $250,000 for his charity — Clay’s is the National Inclusion Project, which trains schools and summer camps to extend curriculum and programs to children with disabilities…

… When Don Trump comes to visit, he’s impressed by the work they’re doing on the show but worries that they’re not really working on fundraising. Clay finally gets moving on the fundraising, but their team doesn’t seem to be racking up a lot of donations.

… Debbie and Clay keep clashing, first over the music, then over Debbie’s cousin’s mural. Clay insists on seeing some sketches, but Debbie is annoyed because her cousin rearranged her schedule to work on the project and hasn’t been able to come up with a final sketch yet. “While I absolutely appreciate that, I sorta don’t care,” Clay tells us. Debbie thinks he’s treating her like a child. “If that’s the way the tides are turning right now,” Debbie tells us, “I don’t belong here.” Oh, the drama!

… Lisa calls Clay and offers to give him a check because he helped her out so much on her big win for the Gay Men’s Health Crisis. Classy move.

Buddy TV – A Race To The Finish

By Esther Gim

… it’s Arsenio and Clay battling it out in the finals. May the best man win!

… Penn, meanwhile, gets under Clay’s skin from the start. Although this time, I side with Penn when he says the concept for the PSA seems offensive. Penn’s problem is that when he criticizes or shoots down an idea, he doesn’t offer any sort of solution. With Clay, you need to do that.

… Clay, meanwhile, stresses out with a lot of responsibility, though he tries really hard not to show it. Penn points out Clay’s teeth grinding as a way to know when he’s stressed.

… Clay is competing for the National Inclusion Project, a charity that he started. But with the task taking up a lot of their time, they start making calls way later. The only big name that comes up is … Lisa Lampanelli!  While she’s helping Arsenio, she said she’s bringing a check for Clay as they had a good relationship on the show, and he helped her many times. I thought that was incredibly sweet and can’t recall that ever happening before.

… On Clay’s team, Debbie’s about to erupt and it’s put a really sour mood on the whole atmosphere. I understand Clay wanting to make sure that whatever happens in the event, he wants to see it beforehand. And he told Debbie this too, but she conveniently forgets. So she takes offense to Clay wanting to see everything and says he doesn’t trust her. To Clay’s credit, I wouldn’t trust Debbie either.

Clay Aiken – Emerging Spokesman for Gay Marriage

In the next 20 years, we’re going to look back on this and be ashamed that we were against it…like interracial marriage says @clayaiken

Screen-caps by Cotton & deemer

From Face The Nation – On-line

Singer and gay rights activist Clay Aiken disagreed with Perkins, pointing to the recent Gallup polling showing that 60 percent of Americans said Mr. Obama’s support for same-sex marriage won’t impact whether or not they support him.

“I think the people who say it will matter on either side of the equation, probably were not going to vote for Obama or were going to vote for President Obama anyway,” he said. He added that gay men and women are going to be more energized to support the president now.

While voters in Aiken’s home state of North Carolina recently passed a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage and domestic partnerships, Aiken said voters in that key state “will support the fact that President Obama did speak out on principle… I think that we’d like to see politicians speak out on principle a little bit more and not just make a political calculation.”

Clay Aiken – “I Came Here To Win!”

It is the morning after…Celebrity Apprentice was on NBC last night and for those in the USA, we watched episode 12.

The twist for the week?  Two people are now gone…Teresa Giudice was eliminated because she was not a good Project Manager on the last task.  Then, Lisa Lampanelli was “fired” because she was too emotional in the boardroom.   So, now it is:

Clay Aiken

Arsenio Hall

Aubrey O’Day!

The articles and reviews are already published and giving their opinions about the celebrities and the show.  The following are some of the more popular sites.  I am quoting only a few lines from each article.  Be sure and read the entire article and why not leave a comment.

Clay’s Take – NBC/Celebrity Apprentice /Blog

… Lisa and I got along swimmingly for the entire task. Lisa didn’t look for ways to trip me up. I certainly didn’t give her any reason to be upset with me, and we produced something great.

… Teresa is the NICEST lady on this season. That’s just the bottom line truth. No matter what you may think of her on Real Housewives of New Jersey, this woman is the epitome of hard work and generosity. She is just incredibly nice.

Be sure and visit this site and read Clay’s blog.  AND….PLEASE…leave a positive comment.  Anything that will help is important and you know the “negative nellies” will leave their thoughts.  It would be great if there were twice as many positive comments as negative ones.

Reality Wanted – Episode 12 Recap

by Todd Betzold

… Lisa is owning her right now, bitchy or not. The other team members are listening in and Clay is cracking up and Arsenio and Aubrey are getting ticked.

… The models arrive for Clay and they all start coming at him…how do they want to the make-up, how is the set designed and so on…he kept saying they will decide when Lisa gets there…he is overwhelmed and says no direction.

… Clay decides to get the photos started since Lisa is still not back from shopping…she finally arrives. They get some clothes on a model and put her in front of the camera since they are running behind. Clay is working with the photographers and models while Lisa sits and eats. Clay is upset because they have no clue who is project manager on set as well. Donald Trump, Jr. comes in and Lisa gives him the concept and he is worried it is too deep to be understood in a print campaign.

… Time for Team Forte…Lisa and Clay do a very good…they have a lot of information on their ads, which could hurt them.

… Marlee said Clay is very sweet, but not sure if he is a leader or a follower. Marlee says Clay played the game safely since he was only project manager twice. John questions the number of times he has been project manager and why he hasn’t stepped up more times.

EW.COM – Aubrey’s Model Behavior

By Dalton Ross

My Ross…where is the review?  You spent more that ½ of your review on silly fluff.  Now, I know you like to make fun of the show, but how about letting us know what happened on the show?

… John Rich, on the other hand, was a total hard-ass. He roasted Aubrey for saying she had hundreds of thousands of dollars waiting to go to her charity, filleted Clay Aiken for saying he still hadn’t given his best yet (even though JR basically entrapped him into that answer), and told Arsenio Hall he didn’t look tired enough. It was all a little absurd — and wonderful.

You can read the entire review at EWCOM

After you read this blog, check out Dalton’s interview with Lisa.  She said:

If you were crowning the winner of this season of Celebrity Apprentice and couldn’t crown yourself, whom would you give the title to? Who did the best job this season?

I’m going to get hate mail from Aubrey about it even though she knows I love her, but I think it would have to be between Aubrey and Clay. Because Clay had a lot more dignity than we did and he still does. I mean, he’s a little bitchy queen and we all know that. He’s probably the only person I met on the show whom I still talk to a lot. I think he’s hilarious and there’s just something about the heart he puts into his charity, that he created that charity. Plus, he’s worked hard and he’s smart. He’s like a dark horse and I think he is amazing. And I’m not like Little Miss Charitable. I totally was on this show for fame as much as charity, but you know what? Clay feels it and I think he should be a winner.

…Clay is listening at the door and cracking up since they neveeer cared what models the ended up with from the beginning!

… Next up is Clay who John and Marlee question whether he is a leader or a follower.

… Lisa and Clay Aikenagreed to use “more than just a new pretty face” as their slogan. Lisa went shopping for the models’ outfits, while Clay took responsibility for the photo shoot. When Lisa got back, the “American Idol” alum continued directing the photo shoot, but his project manager just sat and ate.

… On the other hand, Clay and Lisa did a good job at the presentation. The execs said their pictures were dated, but they gave a lot of information.

… As for Clay, Marlee and John found it hard to determine whether Clay is a leader or a follower.

Trump Fires Two: Is Clay in The Finale?

By Brooke Cain

… Even though Clay wasn’t the project manager this week, he did an awful lot of the work. Lisa went shopping with her models because, according to her, “Clay is the only gay guy in the world who doesn’t know anything about fashion,” and Clay supervised the photography.

… Later, Donald Trump Jr. stopped by to see how the photo shoot was going and dropped one of the best zingers of the night:

Lisa: “We are so winning this it’s like unbelievable, right Clay?”
Clay: “Hello! I’m picking out the pictures of women!”
Junior: “What could possibly go wrong there!?”

… They thought Lisa and Clay did a good job pushing the dryer info and catering to both the Elle and Chi audiences, but they thought the clothing was dated (chosen by Lisa!) and that the presentation lacked passion.

Luckily for Clay, Chi preferred his team’s ad, so he was safe. At least for a bit.

…  Clay impressed Marlee with his background with kids with disabilities, but she felt he was playing the game too safely. His interview with John Rich didn’t go very well. John said he thought Clay was a nice guy, but also thought he was playing it safe. John really hammered Clay on why he didn’t “wrestle someone to the ground” to be project manager more often.

… Well, we have to wait until next week to see who else gets fired. I’m still betting Clay makes the final two. And wins this thing! Fingers crossed, at least.

NJ.com - Aubrey O’Day and Clay Aiken for an all-ginger finale?

By Vicki Hyman

…TEAM FORTE (Clay Aiken and Lisa Lampanelli): Lisa is the project manager. Elle editor-in-chiefRobbie Myers tell Clay and Lisa to marry the Elle girl — sexy, but never vulgar — with the hair dryer. Lisa wants to focus on how lightweight and quiet the hairdryer is, basically, what’s on the inside, and comparing it to women, who are often judged on their exterior. (Um, like Dayana? Ah, the irony.) “More than just a new pretty face” is the slogan.

Lisa goes shopping for the clothes for the models while Clay sets up the photo shoot, although he says he doesn’t have a lot of direction and tries to put off decisions until Lisa gets there. When Lisa finally shows up, she works on the copy while Clay continues to direct the photo shoot. Lisa pitches the concept to Don Trump, who has reservations about getting the idea across to readers.

At the presentation, Clay and Lisa sell the heck out of their campaign. The photos are a little dated looking but offer a lot of information.

… Clay talks about his charity, which helps train people to include those with special needs into summer programs. Marlee says she thinks Clay has played the game safely. He says he hasn’t made enemies, which speaks a lot to his character. John asks him if he’s too nice to win. “I didn’t come here to fight with people,” Clay says. “I came here to win.” I love that. It’s turning the tired reality show saw “I didn’t come here to make friends” on its head. John tells Trump he’s concerned about Clay saying he’s held back in past challenges.

Zap2it – Teresa Giudice and Lisa Lampanelli are fired

By Jen Harper

…even though Lisa and Clay Aiken seem to be at a disadvantage numbers-wise (Teresa has Arsenio Hall and Aubrey) and when it comes to subject matter (Lisa admits to being clueless about fashion and, as she says, “Clay is the only gay guy in the world that doesn’t know anything about fashion”), they still pull out a win.

Clay Aiken – Creating A Buzz

By musicfan123 · Comments 16067(8)http%3A%2F%2Fclaynewsnetwork.com%2F2012%2F05%2F04%2Fclay-aiken-creating-a-buzz%2FClay+Aiken+-+Creating+A+Buzz2012-05-04+08%3A17%3A33musicfan123http%3A%2F%2Fclaynewsnetwork.com%2F%3Fp%3D16067
Friday, May 4th, 2012

On Thursday, the Internet was buzzing about multi-talented Clay Aiken.  His name and information about him could be found in many different categories.  It seems this young man is creating a buzz all over the Internet.

Clay’s name was linked with Dee Snider.  Dee’s newest album drops next Tuesday and the reviews are beginning to pop up.  The album titled Dee Does Broadway, is filled with familiar songs and features many singers in duets with the Twisted Sister star.

One of the first reviews to reach the Internet is on The Dallas Voice.com and is very positive.  I loved what they said about Dee’s duet with Clay Aiken:

I waited with anticipation for track 8, “Luck Be a Lady Tonight.” Teaming with Clay Aiken, this is the musical equivalent of The Twilight Zone. The song starts off gently only to screech into high gear. The juxtaposition is a fun one. Aiken clearly wins in the slower intro, but he holds his own against

Snider’s shrill vocals. Aiken can actually belt out a heavy metal tune and sounds in the vein of Ozzy Osbourne or Don Dokken. The potential that this song could have been a train wreck is easily dismissed and it turns out to be the best track on the album.

Congratulations to Dee and Clay.  I can’t wait to hear the song on Tuesday.  To read the entire article about Dee Does Broadway, click DALLASVOICE.

Clay has been a friend and supporter of the Caregiver Magazine since 2005.  Clay was a keynote speaker at their conference and a recipient of the Robert M. Barg Memorial Achievement Award in 2005.

On Thursday, the organization announced the Henry Winkler would receive the Magazine’s Rare Advocacy Award on May 24th.  In the article, they did mention Clay.  What a wonderful group of people who are named as previous winners and what an honor to be a part of the group.  The following was posted:

Today’s Caregiver magazine and http://www.Caregiver.com, the nation’s foremost print magazine and Web community educating, training and supporting family and professional caregivers since 1995, will present the Robert M. Barg Memorial Achievement Award to actor, director, author and producer, Henry Winkler during the May 24th Western Connecticut Fearless Caregiver Conference in Southbury Connecticut. “This prestigious award has only been presented to a select few caregiver advocates in the organization’s 17 year history who represent a special brand of kindness and advocacy and whose hard work truly makes a difference in the lives of those in need,” said Gary Barg, founder and editor-in-chief of the first national magazine for caregivers, Today’s Caregiver magazine, http://www.caregiver.com, and the Fearless Caregiver Conferences. Prior recipients of the Robert M. Barg Memorial Achievement Award include Debbie Reynolds, Clay Aiken, Della Reese, Robert Urich, Leeza Gibbons, Clay Walker, Patricia Richardson and Linda Dano.

It is wonderful to know that the name of Clay Aiken will always be a part of this list.  More information can be found at the links in the article.

Theatermania is a group that writes about the top headlines in the field of theater.  On Thursday they announced that:

Cast members from the Tony and Drama Desk-nominated Broadway musical Newsies will join the previously reported recording star Clay Aiken and Tony nominee Montego Glover at Family Equality Council’s Night at the Pier celebration in New York City on Tuesday, May 8.

The event will feature Broadway-themed performances in honor of the 30th anniversary of Family Equality Council – the national organization that connects, supports and represents the one million parents in the U.S. who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT).

Aiken is currently featured on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. He is perhaps best known for his appearances on FOX’s American Idol, and was seen on Broadway in Monty Python’s Spamalot, playing the role of Sir Robin. Glover received at Tony nomination for her performance as Felicia Farrell in Memphis.

I certainly wish I could be at this wonderful event.  I always love to hear Clay sing and I would love to hear some of the music from Newsies.

CarterMatt.com is a site that reports and reviews TV shows.  They have reported on Celebrity Apprentice after each episode.

Today, the site published an article titled; Clay Aiken fights against Internet hate

The writer says:

Clay Aiken knows one thing by now after years of dealing with the public’s reaction to his sexuality — how to be comfortable in your own skin, and not give in to some of the bigotry and hate that often comes in your direction based on people with no right to judge.

The writer quoted Clay in the article:

“I occasionally retweet some folks just 2 highlight their ignorance & stupidity. I certainly don’t take offense from [stuff] said by idiots!”

I am glad that CarterMatt wrote about this important topic.  Internet bullies and paid bullies are getting out of hand!

NBC/Celebrity Apprentice posted an album of pictures from last Sunday’s show titled Jingle All The Way.  You can see the pictures at NBCPICTURES

It is exciting to see Clay Aiken articles throughout the Internet.  I do believe that people are falling in love with him all over again!

Which one of these topics do you think is the best for Clay?

The world has known Clay Aiken as a musical star since 2003.  It has been so much fun watching  him change from a young college student to a handsome, mature man.

I thought it might be fun to see the “Then” and “Now”(or at least later)  …Both are amazing…but…is there one that is your favorite?

The Latest Adventure of Clay Aiken – Part 2

Today has been a busy day and the comments are both good and interesting for the latest adventures of Clay Aiken on Celebrity Apprentice.  As always, there are those who love Dayana Mendoza and are disappointed that she was eliminated from the show.  However, most of the sites seem to understand the frustration that she caused to her teammates.  SO…..HERE WE GO !!  Part 2 of  Jingle All The Way Reviews

Television Blend – Celebrity Apprentice Power Rankings:  Arsenio Hall Tries To Manage Aubrey

By Jessica Grabert & Mack Rawden

Clay has been at the top of the Power Rankings for a few weeks and this week he is still the leader.  This is what Jessica and Mack say:

#1) Clay Aiken (34): Partway through the challenge, both Clay and Lisa were at the end of their ropes with Dayana. The Miss Universe winner was giving Clay tips on how to perform, Lisa instructions on how to write and the backing group strange commands like make the song more pink. The way Clay and Lisa responded to the situation is a good indication of why he’s on top and she’s noticeably lower. Apart from one angry exchange with the model to prove his point, Clay largely stayed out of the fray, put his head down, did his job and acted respectfully in the boardroom. Lisa, well, she was another story. It takes at least a bit of professionalism to succeed on Apprentice, and Clay is wonderful at knowing when to bite his tongue.

I always enjoy reading the Power Rankings.  You can read the entire article at TVBLEND

Starpulse.com – Dayana Mendoza Takes Her Final Cat Walk

By Roxanne Tellier

… Trump wonders which team will have the advantage. After all, there’s Clay Aiken, who’s one of the great singers… But Arsenio points to Aubrey, and the Donald remembers, “We think of you as Playboy cover. It’s actually singing, isn’t it?” Ouch! Burn, Aubrey!

… Clay says that jingles typically begin with finding a melody, to which words are added. He’s getting frustrated, knowing that he should have been in charge of the task, and is insulted when Dayana suggests that they should call Debbie Gibson for help.

Clay wonders if they should go with a “Teen Angel,” sixties style music concept. Dayana adds that they can then switch it up a little bit and take it to the eighties. Lisa and Clay, horrified at her suggestion, continue working on the sixties sound. Dayana’s frustrated that her ideas are not being accepted.

… Forte’s Clay wants to get a feel for their song before the musicians arrive. Dayana begins snapping her fingers, trying to find a beat, and suggests something along the lines of Duran Duran. Clay and Lisa just wish she’d get out of the way. Dayana finally agrees with the sixties groove, but wonders if the musicians could make the sound a little less flat. Clay begins to lose it, as Dayana’s lack of musicianship pushes him over the edge. He knows Dayana wants to be involved, but can’t figure out why she won’t defer to someone who actually knows what they’re doing.

Dayana just keeps throwing in suggestions to the musicians. “Add some pink. And yellow. Could there be some red?” The musicians wonder what on earth she’s talking about.

…Trump asks Clay if Dayana’s success as Miss Universe had any impact on the project, and Clay says they didn’t see that on this task. After this task, and the way she handled it, it’s hard for him to have respect for Dayana. She micromanaged things that she knew nothing about.

New York Daily News – Aubrey O’Day and Dayana Mendoza are menaces to project management

Jingle competition strikes sour note among Forte Members

By Joyce Chen

…The lesson to be learned from this week’s “Celebrity Apprentice” is two-fold.  First, don’t let Aubrey O’Day out of your site if you value your position as project manager, and second, don’t let Dayana Mendoza get in your way if you value your position as project manager.

…The former “American Idol” contestant is sad to see his buddy Penn out of the picture, but can now clearly see the pot of gold, er, oversized check, at the end of the tunnel.  Ironic, though, that he and Arsenionare the two last men standing, he notes, even though the men’s team had hit the ground running at the start of the competition.

…But here’s a chance for Clay to really shine:  the challenge for this week involves creating a 90-second jingle for Good Sam’s Roadside Assistance, something that’s right up obnoxious-and catchy Clay’s alley.

…Clay and Lisa try their best to be diplomatic with Miss Universe, but it’s clear that their patience is wearing thin with the Venezuelan beauty.  Her string of bad suggestions just never ends.

…She peers over Lisa’s shoulder as she’s trying to write the script and even goes so far as to tell Clay how to sing the jingle.  And don’t nobody do that to Clay Aiken, “American Idol” superstar!  The bubbly singer is noticeably irked, flaring nostrils and all.  Clay is now 100 percent on Lisa’s side.

Rolling Stone – Jingle All The Way

The ‘Dirty Half-Dozen’ stuck by the side of the road

by Dan Hyman

…The other team is having issues of its own. “Dayana doesn’ t know the difference between jingle and ‘jingle all the way’, ” Lisa Lampanelli says.  From the start, Clay Aiken and Lampanelli drive the team’s creative vision.  Mendoza, meanwhile, continues to prove to be a weak player.  ANd her teammates are done putting up with her idiocy.  How bad is Mendoza on this task?  Lampanelli and Aiken suggest a Sixties, Frankie Valli-style jingle.  Mendoza listens to a group of session musicians play a melody on that fashion and suggests adding “more read and yellow.  ”Duran Duran and rhumba.”

Hyman’s article can be found at ROLLINGSTONE

CBS – Celebrity Circuit – Three cheers for the jingle

by Mary-Jayne McKay

…What did she do wrong?  For starters, she put herself, and not her team, first by pleading to lead the task.  It was clear from the start that it was beyond her.  In the van after getting the task, she showed that she had no idea what a jingle was when she asked her teammates whether it wasn’t a Christmas task (think “Jingle Bells”).

…Aiken and Lampanelli were kind when they told host Donald Trump that they had to waste precious minutes giving Mendoza a crash course in musicology.  Here’s some of the things they did mention…

1.  When Aiken suggested a ’60s sound, she agreed but suggested they could bring it up into the ’80s.

2.  When the band played a sample song, she asked if they could add more pink. (Was she talking about the singer or the color? Who knows?)

3.  She asked for lyric changes that would have thrown off the timing of the melody.

4.  She kept insisting on using the word “track,” when the Good Sam assistance they were promoting wasn’t for trains but for TVs.

…Aiken told the Trumps he wouldn’t use the same language but he did suffer from the same feelings as Lampanelli.

Reality Blurred – Don’t tell Aubrey O’Day, but on Celebrity Apprentice, she’s just like Dayana Mendoza.

by Andy Dehnart

…The two people who got the most attention on last night’s Celebrity Apprentice were Dayana Mendoza and Aubrey O’Day.  On the surface, they seem like very different people: Dayana thought a jingle was a version of “Jingle All The Way,” while AUbrey has actually written every jingle ever used, ever, all while doing cancer research during her many trips into burning buildings to save orphans.

…When she did that during the jingle-writing task, that led to both more yelling from Lisa and gave us more of what has become a highlight of this season: Clay Aiken reactions.  Both in the moment (he made faces behind her back) and in intervieews, he is hilarious and ridiculously quotable – so quotable I just stopped writing down things he says, because there are too many and they’re much better in context.  Once again, Celebrity Apprentice helps us see a celebrity in an entirely new way.

NJ.com – Like the blind leading the seeing

by Vicki Hyman/The Star-Ledger

…When the musicians show up and they narrow down the jingle style to the mid-’60s Four Seasons, Dayana suggests adding “a little bit pink into it, yellow? Something a little more…not as flat?”  Even giving her a pass for the language barrier, it’s still pretty annoying.  She then tries to direct Clay in the recording booth, and instructs Lisa to “sound a little cuter, not so scary.”  Dayana also suggests having one person dressed as a hippie, because, after all, it’s the 60′s  The Four Seasons played at Wood stock, right? “It was not like the blind leading the blind,” Clay says.  ”It was like the blind leading the seeing.”

…At the rehearsal space, Clay gets prickly when Dayana tries to give him some staging suggestions.  Dayana backs off:  ”I’ll just sit here and when you’re done, I’ll clap.”

… At the performance, Clay is dressed in a plaid jacket and has hair slicked back; the back-up singers and dancers are in polka-dot dresses and headbands.  The mascot Good Sam comes out and the dancers dance around him.

…Trump asked Clay whether Dayana’s background and popularity as Miss Universe helped on a task like this. Huh? What a weird question.  Um, no, Clay says.

…Clay says it’s hard to have respect for Dayana after this task, and she should have put herself into a supportive role as opposed to being a micromanager.

It is always amazing how many articles and reviews are posted about Celebrity Apprentice.  Many of the sites have polls too.  I hope you will try and visit the sites and enter the poll.

I am sure there will be more Tuesday.  It always takes a bit before all the sites publish their ideas.  I will post the links as soon as I can.

Who will be the next apprentice to be fired?

Quote of the Day

It is not always about performance art, but about receiving positive energy from people with positive spirits. Sometimes we can see someone's spirit, and those are the people with great energy. Those are the people that get me through the day, especially on Broadway. -Clay Aiken
