WFNC -640AM is a radio station in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The station’s format is conservative talk. On Tuesday morning, Clay Aiken was a guest on Good Morning Fayetteville with Goldy and Jim Cooke.
Clay talked about many things:
1. He has two political trackers that follow him everywhere. Clay said that he never talks to the trackers because he doesn’t want them to take something he says and use it out of context. He even has to cover the keypad on his car so they can’t get the code to get into his car.
2. Much of the discussion was about the military and the problems that face soldiers when they become veterans. Too many have problems finding a job and too many are homeless because of it. Clay suggested that perhaps the process of transitioning should start earlier for the soldiers.
3. Clay joked that military jargon includes many acronyms and he sometimes has to get his brother to translate for him!
There was a lot more…let us hope that the station might put it up on their website so we can hear the entire interview.

From the radio interview, Clay tweeted the following:

From the picture it looks like the kids are listening carefully to Clay and I would imagine Clay is loving every moment in the classroom!

The Rant began as a radio show is Sanford, NC, in 2008 and has now become a news site/blog covering central North Carolina. On Tuesday, The Rant published a short article about the New Republic interview of Clay Aiken:
New Republic profiles Aiken, heavy on Sanford references
It’s not every single day that Sanford shows up in the New Republic, a left-leaning, DC-based magazine about American politics. But that’s what happened this week, when the 100-year-old publication profiled Clay Aiken’s bid to unseat Congresswoman Renee Ellmers.
The article quotes Aiken as saying the campaign trail was putting weight on him as he ordered a helping of banana pudding from the recently-burned Fairview Dairy Bar, that he thinks of old friend Donald Trump as his “Tea Party-supporting uncle,” details the financial contributions Aiken has received from famous friends, and reminds us of Ellmers’ spokesperson not-so-subtly referencing Aiken’s lifestyle with her quip that his views “more closely resemble San Francisco than Sanford.”
Regardless of your views or who you plan to vote for in November, it’s an interesting read about an interesting wrinkle in North Carolina politics. View the full article here.

What a busy but exciting day for Clay and his team. It is always exciting to watch as Clay listens to the people of his district and shares his ideas about how North Carolina can grow into a leader in the southern states.
What do you think was Clay’s favorite part of the day?
Check in again today as Wednesday is supposed to be another busy day!
I read The New Republic article yesterday. When I read The Rant's article today, it quoted The New Republic article, but in such away that it didn't sound the same. It's amazing how that works. Loved all the tweets about Clay's phone conversation with the College Dems.
