Clay Aiken – It’s Time For The Highly Anticipated Debate

~ It is Monday, October 6, 2014 ~

At 11:30am – Eastern Time/ 8:30am Pacific Time, Clay Aiken will start his first debate with Representative Renee Ellmers!

The North Carolina Bankers Association (NCBA) in partnership with Capitol Broadcasting Company and WRAL-TV will be hosting a highly anticipated debate between Representative Renee Ellmers and Clay Aiken.

The debate will take place  at the NCBA’s Management Team Conference which is being held at the Pinehurst Resort. Delegates attending the Conference and members of the  media will make up the live audience.
WRAL’s award-winning news anchor, David Crabtree, has been chosen to serve as the moderator for the debate. As a highly respected anchor Mr. Crabtree  will ask questions that, according to the NCBA
“in a free flowing format not burdened by the time constraints of a standard debate format.”
Although the candidates both participated in a voters forum last month, this will be their first debate together.  It will be an opportunity for the candidates to share their backgrounds, credentials and their goals for the 2nd congressional district.  And, by answering thought-provoking questions, they will share not only the issues they see, but the solutions they would use to help solve the problems.
I think this will certainly be a highlight of the interesting Campaign Trail that Clay is traveling!  I am sure he will be well prepared, personable, dynamic, and will even use a bit of humor to get his point across!
Renee…are you really ready to take on Clay Aiken?
If you live in the WRAL area, you will be able to watch the debate at 7:00 p.m and at 11:00 p.m on WRAL-TV.
You will also be able to watch the debate on C-span.
…ON C-span online you can watch the debate live at 11:30 AM eastern time. It does require you to log in.
…C-span TV – you can watch the taped debate at 8:00 PM eastern time.
Of course, both WRAL and WRAZ-TV will carry the debate. It also will be streamed live on WRAL’s website, and the video will be available online through Election Day.

Will you be watching the debate???
If so, I would love to read your comments.
I think it will be an interesting hour and just as interesting to read what the press will say about the event.

  1. Absolutely I will be watching the debate. I'm really interested in seeing how Renee reacts to Clay. She seems to think she is a "harder" worker than he is. I'm sure Clay will be his smart, articulate, well informed self. Good Luck Clay!! (don't think you will need it)

  2. I am so confident in Clay yet my knees are weak!! Will he charm the socks off of Elmers?? I certainly know he will be prepared and confident like we know he always is! I can hear him say "Bring it on, bring it on!"

  3. I hope that somehow we'll be able to watch this debate, I would love to see it! Good luck Clay!!! Clay for Congress!!!! Thanks Martha xox

  4. Martha, I am hoping and praying that I can get the live stream from WRAL and not have to wait until it is posted. I read a bunch of Twitter comments about it and I can't wait to see it. Let's hope that everyone who watches will see Clay for the smart, articulate, kind and caring future congressman he is and not the "entertainer" that Renee is trying so hard to label him. As Clay said in one interview, Renee was a nurse and people don't ask her to take blood! Bring it on. Thanks Martha. 🙂
