Clay Aiken – Always and Forever

I have always tried to be up front with all of you about my American Idol experience.  I started watching at the beginning of Season 2.  My husband and I enjoyed watching together and tried to make sure nothing got in the way of watching.  We both loved Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken.  But, it didn’t take long before Clay became our favorite.

We watched for a few more years, but lost interest when it was obvious from the beginning which contestants the show wanted to win.

So…being the last year of American Idol, I was ready to watch again.  Because of the promotion for the show, I learned that Clay Aiken was helping out in Philadelphia and was going to be a part of the last season.

Well…I wish I could tell you that Clay will be on tonight.  I don’t know what to think.  The latest promotion video was taken down on Monday and then returned without Clay.  What?  It seems a bit odd to remove him from the show.  After all, Clay is one of the most popular Idol Alums.  Of course, maybe Clay will be there and we can see him judging and encouraging the young singers.  We will just have to wait and see.

The following Promotion video is still up and has lots of Clay at the auditions.  I am feeling better!

Do you remember seeing Clay when he auditioned for American Idol.  It’s fun to look back.

So…lets hope we see Clay on our TV tonight!

I am sure he was wonderful as a judge!

  1. I can't believe Idol can be so petty and not have the most popular person on tonight! As I stated on my FB page, the judges can criticize, but the public can not? I guess we will keep our fingers crossed and hope for Clay tonight! Thanks for the pictures and video!

  2. I hope he is on too. Only my opinion but his popularity & the attention he's been getting perhaps they felt the show & the rest of the idols were being over shadowed. They needed to spotlight them a bit, but idol & Clay is like oil & water, who knows. When you think idol you think season 2.

  3. Someone else saw this ad just a few hours ago, so I am more hopeful that he will be on tonight, I had planned to watch this whole season and really get into it because of knowing that Clay would be in several episodes. I hope he's on tonight. But, if he's not going to be on after that, then I am finished with AI. He's the best thing to ever come off that show–a true idol.

  4. Please let Clay be on tonight, I think A! went a bit too far and I'm sure a lot of fans are going to be upset, I for one. Thanks Musicfan…xo

  5. Keeping my fingers crossed that Clay will be on AI this evening. I watched that first episode last week and was so disappointed in the judges comments and actions even before I read Clay's tweets. He was reacting to the same things that I saw. Just being honest.

  6. This is the original promo video & is only up on AI’s YouTube, where apparently they failed to replace it, like they did everywhere else. It has not been posted back up on social media. AI still has the edited version up, with Clay edited out. Childish.

  7. I have my doubts that he will be on again. He's right about how the judges are acting and that's not the way the show was. It's gotten so corny with the judges going up with the contestants, etc. Wish I could read Simon's mind! Oh well, time will tell if he will be on again and I'll be disappointed as Clay is the reason I was watching AI. Haven't watched it for several years.

  8. Oh the irony! A reality show all about criticism, i.e. American Idol, gets its Fox feathers ruffled by Clay Aiken (who has certainly swallowed more than his fair share of criticism) tweeting about how Simon Cowell's insults were more entertaining than the judges he watched during the first episode of AI's last season. Without Clay's tweets, AI wouldn't have been in the news at all. Harrumph!
