Clay Aiken – It’s Top 8 Week!

It is Thursday…are you ready to watch American Idol tonight?  In past seasons and the beginning of this season, we have watched the show on both Wednesday and Thursday evening.  But, from this point until the finale week, the show will only be seen on Thursday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.  As in other years, the show will be on live.

According to American Idol, two Idols will go home at the beginning of the show tonight and the Top 8 will sing again, hoping that they will make it through one more week of competition.

Do you remember when Clay Aiken was on the Top 8 show in Season 2?  The theme for the night was Billboard #1 Hits.  Lionel Richie was the guest judge.  Clay sang At This Moment by Billy Vera and the Beaters. In a surprising turn of events, Simon complimented Clay by saying:

That song was perfect for you. Absolutely on the money…Well Done!!

Yes…it was an excellent performance.

It’s been a long time since I have looked at some of these pictures.

The entire group was talented!

Do you have a favorite for Season 15?

  1. I only watched AI15 for the first few tryouts when I thought Clay might be on. I'm done with it now. I did love it when Clay sang "At This Moment" back on AI2. Perfection.

  2. I was surprised Simon gave Clay a glorious compliment with his performance! The group from Season 2 had the best talent! They were family! By the way, I love your emoticon of Clay at the bottom of your article!

  3. This show just isn't the same……….. But since it's the last season, I'm actually watching. So far. I like Tristan, Olivia, and LaPortia in that order. I'll be glad when it's over, even though it's also a little sad.

  4. I think Dalton is a cutie! I hope he stays around for just a little longer, lol! As I've said before, I have watched every single season since season 2. Love the show. Sorry others don't care for it, but I love watching shows with singing or dancing on it. Not a big fan of reality shows, but others are! I'm going to miss American Idol! We'll always have our clack!
