Clay Aiken – Just Beautiful!

There are places I’ll remember

All my life, though some have changed

Some forever, not for better

Some have gone and some remain

All these places have their moments

With lovers and friends I still can recall

Some are dead and some are living

In my life, I’ve loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers

There is no one compares with you

And these memories lose their meaning

When I think of love as something new

Though I know I’ll never lose affection

For people and things that went before

I know I’ll often stop and think about them

In my life, I love you more

Though I know I’ll never lose affection

For people and things that went before

I know I’ll often stop and think about them

In my life, I love you more

In my life– I love you more

“In My Life” is a song by The Beatles written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The song originated with Lennon, and while McCartney contributed to the final version, the extent of his contribution is in dispute. Released on the 1965 album Rubber Soul, it is ranked 23rd on the Rolling Stone article “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”, and placed second on CBC’s 50 Tracks. Mojo magazine named it the best song of all time in 2000.

On March 12, 2010, Clay Aiken sang this beautiful song on his Tried & True Live PBS Special.  On the night of the recording, he dedicated the song to all the teachers that have been a part of his life.

The following YouTube is from the Chicago PBS Concert.  It was held on October 14, 2010

  1. I dearly love this song! First time I heard Clay's performance was near the end of his Tried and True tour in 2011. Thank you, CANN for a beautiful song on this, my birthday! Very true in what I am feeling right now!

  2. I was there for the PBS taping and loved when he dedicated this song to his teachers. Some of those teachers were in the audience. Must have been such a wonderful moment for them.
Always regretted that this song was not on the DVD of the PBS special.

Attending that PBS taping was one of the highlights of my "fanship". It was such an important night for him and he did not disappoint. As we all were leaving the venue, I could hear so many saying, "Oh, My God!" From that time on it became known as the "OMG Concert".

  3. Well I was wondering what I could do for an encore after knee replacement surgery and I came up with cataract surgery. So with my one good eye right now I am typing about how much I enjoyed Clay’s rendition of this Beatles song. I haven’t viewed my Tried & True DVD lately so it was like hearing it for the first time again. Beautiful lyrics. Are pictures or videos from the inclusion weekend posted anywhere? I would love to see them. Thanks for the post musicfan. ❤️ UNCONDITIONAL love for you Clay. Congrats to the Tarheels!
