Clay Aiken has often talked of his love of the state of North Carolina.
And even though he is living in New York right now, I am sure he still considers North Carolina his home!!
On June 21, 2010, Clay participated in a wonderful event titled Bringing Broadway Home. It was a spectacular benefit concert for the North Carolina Theatre. The concert, held at the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, celebrated 27 seasons of Broadway at North Carolina Theatre. The stars of the evening were
Clay Aiken, Lauren Kennedy, Sharon Lawrence, Terrence Mann and Quiana Parler.
Clay opened the concert with Home from The Wiz. It was so appropriate because this show was all about the homegrown talent from Raleigh.
Clay also sang Mack The Knife, What Kind of Fool Am I, This is the Moment, and Those Magic Changes.
He also sang duets with Quiana and Lauren. One of the highlights of the evening was Imagine by John Lennon. The entire ensemble joined together in an amazing performance of the wonderful song.
From all the reviews, the program was amazing and each singer brought so much to the stage.
Did you get to attend this concert? This was one that I didn’t get to attend and I am so sorry. I know I would have enjoyed it.
Thank goodness for CLACK!!
Wouldn’t it be fun to have another concert for the NC Theatre?
Clay was at his prime, the night of "Bringing Broadway Home"" He seemed very happy to perform in front of his fans, friends and family! What a night!
This was amazing. I didn't see it live. but sure wish I did. Beautiiful voices who can really sing, and Clay was at the t op of his game for sure.
Thanks for this memory.
Some of the best Clay performances ever. Not much can top Clay singing Home. It is the best. Thanks for bringing these performances to us. ❤️ UNCONDITIONAL love for you Clay. God bless us and God bless America.
I loved this show so much, grateful for all the video from it as I couldn't attend. Some of his finest vocals. Wish they would do something like this again, I would crawl there!
