In the spring of 2016, Clay Aiken left a lovely message on his Facebook page:
You know what? It’s taken me 14 years to realize it… I DID WIN! No final 2 from #AmericanIdol ever became nor stayed as close as my winner and I. @realrubenstuddard has been more than a co-worker & more than a friend… he’s been a true brother. No #idol finalist have ever won in the way we have. Never mind the albums and tours. Never mind the platform and exposure. American Idol gave me one of my greatest friends ever. And for that, I am truly grateful. #idolfinale #idolfarewell #losangeles #dolbytheatre

I thought the following video by SueRue says a lot about friendship!!
“A strong friendship doesn’t need daily conversation or being together.
As long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends never part.”

Clay said a lot about he and Ruben and his words show just how much he appreciates his good friend!
So much truth in that final quote!
That video brought smiles and even a tear – that happens a lot, to me, while watching Clay’s work! He is able to hit the heart so often!
I love these two together, .true friendship and brotherhood.
On American Idol for these two men; it started as a competition and ended up as a beautiful friendship that will last forever! Watching them one can see the love in there eyes!
Thank you, for the article and the video of OMC and The Velvet Teddy Bear! I got tears in my eyes hearing them sing "I Had The Time of My Life"
