Clay Aiken – Today, I Will Make A Difference!

“Today, I will be too calm for worry, too noble for anger and too strong for defeat. Today, I will believe anything is possible…I will walk through fear without hesitation. Today, I will stand for something.

Today, I will make a difference.”

The 9/11 Memorial is a place of remembrance and contemplation.  It is located on 8 acres of the World Trade Center Complex. The Memorial’s twin reflecting pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest man-made waterfalls in the North America. The pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood.

The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into bronze panels edging the Memorial pools, a powerful reminder of the largest loss of life resulting from a foreign attack on American soil and the greatest single loss of rescue personnel in American history.

Today, I dedicate this article to Rahma Salie and Michael Theodoridis.  These two young people were on the way to California to participate in my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding and they were on one of the planes. They, and their unborn baby will always hold a special place in our hearts.

~~~~~
Yesterday, September 8th, Clay posted 2 tweets.  One was silly-fun and the other was somewhat serious.  I hope you all will check out his tweets and why not give him a click.
THEN
On September 8, Clay posted an OP-ED that he wrote on September 4.  Yes….it is political, but it is written well and very interesting. It starts with
….On July 22, 2016, Donald Trump accepted the Republican Party’s presidential nomination in Cleveland. In his speech that night, Trump pledged to “do everything in [his] power to protect our LGBTQ citizens.”
Almost one year later to the day, on July 26, 2017, Trump announced by tweet that “the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military.”
Unfortunately, the broken promises to the LGBTQ community don’t stop there…
You can read the entire OP-ED at  qnotes
When you click on the link, it takes a bit of time to finally get to the article…but reading Clay’s article is worth it.
Isn’t it nice to hear from Clay?
Have a lovely day!
