Everyone looks happy and relaxed.  What a great picture for Clay to put in his “scrap-book.”
On Saturday night, the GLAAD  23rd annual Media Awards were presented in Los Angeles, California.  The event honors outstanding images of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in the media.
Chaz Bono, the 43-year-old transgender activist and author was honored with the outstanding documentary prize and Stephen F. Kolzak Award at the 23rd annual Media Awards for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Bono won along with directors Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato for “Becoming Chaz,” the OWN documentary that chronicled his gender transition.
Josh Hutcherson, a star from  ”The Hunger Games” ,  won the Vanguard Award, which, according to the GLAAD Internet site:
lauds efforts to increase visibility and understanding of the gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender community. Earlier this year, he began working with the anti-bullying campaign Straight But Not Narrow. The 19-year-old actor is the youngest recipient to ever win the Vanguard Award.
According to the UPS:
Other honorees at Saturday night’s `s ceremony at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles were ABC’s “Modern Family” for comedy series, Focus Features drama “Beginners” starring Ewan McGregor and supporting actor Oscar winner Christopher Plummer for wide-release film, and Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva” and TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland” in a tie for individual TV episode.
Do you remember that Clay Aiken  was cast in a role on Drop Dead Diva, a popular show on the Lifetime Network.
1. The story was based on the story of Constance McMillen, a Mississippi high school senior who was not allowed to attend her prom with her girlfriend.
2. Other guest stars for this episode included Lance Bass, Amanda Bearse, and Wanda Sykes.
3. Clay was cast as a marketing executive who is a witness in one of the law cases.
4. Clay’s character ends up being the bad guy.
5. Clay was in 2 different scenes in the show.
6. The real Constance McMillen had a walk-on role on the show. This episode received a great deal of press as it tackled a controversial topic in a non-lecturing way.
Congratulations to the creator of the show, Josh Berman, Sony Pictures Television who produced the show, Brooke Elliott who plays Jane, the lead character in the show.  Also congratulations to Clay Aiken for being a part of a winning show.
Are you ready for Celebrity Apprentice tonight?

Clay Aiken – Seven Billion Pounds Of Candy!

Happy Easter to

To All Our Readers!

I hope your day is filled with

Love,

Laughs, Family,

and Friends!

The following are some fun facts about Easter!

  • Americans eat more candy at Easter than at any other holiday besides Halloween. An average of seven billion pounds of candy is consumed over Easter weekend. Sales of Easter candy top nearly $2 billion; in contrast, just over $1 billion of candy is sold for Valentine’s Day.
  • The most popular Easter confection is Marshmallow Peeps. More than 700 million of these chick, bunny and egg-shaped marshmallows are purchased every year. A meager 90 million chocolate bunnies are consumed. At peak production, over four million Marshmallow Peeps can be made each day.
  • Eating Easter candy is a relatively modern tradition. The first chocolate eggs, for example, were made in Europe in the 1800s. And Marshmallow Peeps, produced by the Russian-born U.S. confectioner Sam Born, didn’t get their start until the 1950s in the United States.
  • The most popular treat to hide inside an Easter egg is jellybeans. Americans consume more than 16 billion of them at Easter — enough to circle the circumference of the globe three times!
  • Over one billion Easter eggs are hunted every year in America. The most popular (or at least the most televised) Easter egg hunt is the one held at the White House. President Hayes hosted the first White House egg hunt in 1878, launching a tradition that has continued to this day.
  • When taking a bite into a chocolate bunny, 76% of Americans prefer to bite off the ears first. 5% eat the feet first and 4% eat the tail first.

A special

Happy Easter

to

Clay Aiken!

Enjoy Your Day!

After relaxing with family and friends, be sure and tune in to NBC to see the new episode of Celebrity Apprentice.  From the previews this past week, it looks like this will be a fun show.  I hope Clay will share the show with his fans.  His tweets add so much to the entire evening!

Don’t forget to check in at CANN on Monday morning for  breaking news about Clay and his appearance on Celebrity Apprentice.

Clay Aiken – A Busy Week-end!

By musicfan123 · Comments 14721(6)http%3A%2F%2Fclaynewsnetwork.com%2F2012%2F02%2F17%2Fclay-aiken-a-busy-week-end%2FClay+Aiken+-+A+Busy+Week-end%212012-02-18+06%3A58%3A39musicfan123http%3A%2F%2Fclaynewsnetwork.com%2F%3Fp%3D14721
Friday, February 17th, 2012

The week-end is upon us and we have a very busy schedule following Clay Aiken.

Tonight, Clay will be at Carnegie Hall, as a guest judge for the Nico Castel International 2012 Master Singer Competition and Concert.  I am sure that Clay will be an excellent judge. According to the organization, they are pleased with the amount of tickets that have been sold.  I am sure that they know that there will be Clay fans in attendance to support the contestants and watch Clay in a new role.  I feel fortunate that I will be in the audience for this unique event.

Sunday……..finally we will see Clay on the first episode of Celebrity Apprentice.  Will he be “nasty” as Trump said,or will he “throw someone under the bus?”  I can’t wait to watch.  Be sure and join our twitter site during the show.

We have added a Celebrity Apprentice twitter page to CANN here: http://claynewsnetwork.com/celebrity-apprentice-on-twitter/You can follow the tweets from the cast and from the Trumps as well as our own tweets using the #ClayCA hashtag. Don’t be shy, join in the fun!
Monday night,it is back to Carnegie Hall for The Reflections of Life Concert.  Again,Clay plays an interesting role as a narrator for part of the concert.  It will be fun to chat after the concert is over.  I am sure we will see Clay at his very best.  I know that there will be many Clay fans in the audience on Monday.  I hope you will come up and say hello.  It is always fun to see Clay friends.
Now, that’s a varied schedule of events for Clay and his fans.
Today, BuddyTV.com wrote an article about Celebrity Apprentice.
‘The Celebrity Apprentice’: We Rank the Stars Before the Boardroom (and Share Some Spoilers, Too!)
#1 Clay Aiken… Except, perhaps, by Clay Aiken’s drive to win, as he’s also fighting for a cause close to his heart, his National Inclusion Project, which is dedicated to promoting the inclusion of children with disabilities in activities. And there are lots of other factors that lead me to believe that Clay might have this one in the bag — not least of which is the fact that his name keeps popping up among his castmates as to which star surprised and impressed them most with his business skills. Though, in looking at all he’s accomplished since American Idol, they probably shouldn’t have been surprised. Among several albums and acting roles, Aiken has served as a UNICEF ambassador and on the Presidential Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities. He is a fierce advocate for equality, inclusion, service and kindness to those who are different from you. And it’s this message, along with his musical talents, that have gained him a large following of loyal fans across the country. While it seems like Clay’s views might not always jive with Trump’s more conservative, cut-throat brand of capitalism, I think he’s got experience, the right attitude and people’s low expectations all on his side.

Clay Aiken – Follow Your Heart!

Today is the second of February and much of North America observes the day as Groundhog Day. On this day, according to folklore, the groundhog awakes from its long winter sleep and comes out of its den. If it sees its shadow it will go back in, and we will have another six weeks of winter. If it does not see its shadow it will remain awake and active, and we will have an early spring.

This popular old legend apparently came to North America with early settlers from Europe, where it is believed in some parts that bears or badgers behave in the same manner. Although most people recognize that the legend has no basis in fact, it provides a welcome mid-winter diversion, which is usually promoted by the news media. Actually most woodchucks do not come out of hibernation until March, or even later in the north.

Groundhog Day Trivia

  • All groundhogs have 22 teeth.
  • Groundhogs hibernate one to a burrow, with at least two doorways.
  • Males emerge earlier than females each spring.
  • Groundhogs can lose 50 per cent of their body weight in hibernation. Their maximum size is 10 kilograms.
  • They can both swim and climb trees, and have a top speed of 15 kilometres an hour.
  • Groundhog Day was once celebrated by ancient Celts. It’s halfway between the winter solstice and spring equinox.
  • Farrah Fawcett, Tom Smothers, James Joyce, Graham Nash, Christie Brinkley, and my son were all born on Groundhog Day.

After reading Clay Aiken’s tweets last night and watching the reaction for a few hours Wednesday night, I feel I should say something…but to be honest, this is one day that I am struggling to find what is appropriate to say.  Right now, all I can say is that I am a fan of Clay Aiken.  I believe that he is intelligent, hard-working and very talented.  I hope that Clay continues to follow his heart and can laugh at the career advice he gets on twitter!

I love these two Clay Aiken quotes:

“This is what I love to do, I love to sing and to be able to perform in front of an audience.  It does not happen often where someone can do what they truly love for a living, so I feel fortunate to be able to have my dream of singing come true. Music is such an important part of my life. The best thing of course are the fans. Being on stage and seeing their smiles and knowing they are enjoying the music is a great feeling.”

“It is not always about performance art, but about receiving positive energy from people with positive spirits. Sometimes we can see someone’s spirit, and those are the people with great energy. Those are the people that get me through the day, especially on Broadway.”

Clay Aiken – What Do You Think?

Saturday, January 28th, 2012

After a week of tweets, blogs and surprises, Friday, January 27th  ended up being a day to catch up!  No one seemed to know if Clay Aiken had overworked his twitter fingers, was enjoying family time, was traveling, lost his phone, or just decided to take a breather.  Yeah…we get spoiled.  After so much news all week, most fans were missing the “twitter master.”

However, there was some great information found at Amazon.  Instead of the empty box that was supposed to be Steadfast, they posted a cover that just might be the real deal.  It looked much like the artwork for Bring Back My Love, but the lighting was different and the colors a bit more muted.  As always, the fans had fun talking about the great picture and the great music they hope are included on the playlist!

Below is a picture that was posted at Amazon.  What do you think?

It all started in Atlanta, Georgia on January 28th, 2003, when millions of people were introduced to a skinny redhead who wore glasses and had a unique fashion style. The American Idol judges looked skeptical and no one knew what to expect.

Clay Aiken-Atlanta

Clay Aiken-Atlanta

But like your mother used to say, don’t judge a book by its cover. Clay Aiken opened his mouth to sing and the incredible voice that poured out amazed everyone.

“Why are you here?” Clay spread his hands and stated simply; “Because I am the next American Idol.”

The skeptical judges watched and listened as Clay sang an excerpt from the 80’s song, Always and Forever and demonstrated his rich, clear voice.

Randy Jackson wanted to know where the voice came from and Simon Cowell suggested that he didn’t look like a pop star. But, it’s all about the voice and so Clay, the unlikely pop star, made his first steps on an incredible journey.

The voice continued to amaze through the following weeks. Clayton Aiken became Clay Aiken. He not only looked like a pop star, he became one.

Please watch this incredible audition here.

Wednesday, January 25th was an amazing day for Clay Aiken Fans!  It is so much fun to have so many things to post!

The day started with a new YouTube about Broadway Backwards.  BC/EFA will be presenting the 7th annual show on Monday, March 5, 8 pm – at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.  Clay was one of the outstanding performers on lasts years show.  He had the audience in tears when he sang an emotional performance of Home, from the show, The Wiz.

Be sure to visit the website for BC/EFA  to get more information on the show.  I was able to go last year and it was amazing.  The following YouTube video is great.

Towards the end of the day, Clay sent out a twitter that was so much fun.  Included with his short message was a fun picture of his family at dinner.  The replies, the re-tweets and the comments from fans were amazing.  Everyone seemed so excited that Clay shared the moment with his fans.  Many seemed happy because it seemed like Clay thought about all the fans and just shared a moment.  Pretty Cool!  The following is the tweet with the picture:

It is so wonderful that there are Clay fans who are able to capture shows and commercials from their TV’s.  A few were able to capture a new commercial for the up-coming season of Celebrity Apprentice.  Then other fans were able to get a few screen caps.  I wish I knew the names of the people who did this for all of the fans.  I would really like to thank them for  taking the time and sharing so much with us.  I can’t wait until Celebrity Apprentice starts.  It seems like it is going to be amazing!
