Today is the anniversary of Bringing Broadway Home, a benefit concert celebrating 27 seasons of Broadway at the NC Theatre. Held in the Memorial Hall in Raleigh, North Carolina, the show was an exciting evening for Clay Aiken fans and all fans of great Broadway music.
Clay was joined on the stage by Lauren Kennedy, Quiana Parler, Terrance Mann, and Sharon Lawrence.
I really loved all the videos from this Show. Clay never, never dissappoints.
I especially felt that he really enjoyed doing this very much – it just so shows in every
song he did with such power and energy.
This would have been one that I would have loved to attend!! But I would feel that way
about every show he has done.
Wow that was a great night. There were great performances all around but Clay had serveral amazing performances. Great videos! 🙂
Wow…It's been a year….I truly believe that Clay's performances in Bringing Broadway Home, was one of his best. Clay's voice was just spot on. Yup…he brought it that night!!!!!! Not to say he doesn't every performance, but he just sounded incredible. I downloaded Clay's numbers, and play them all the time in my car. If Clay sounds this good in a live recording…can you imagine what a proper studio recording would sound like? His voice is so rich and strong and pitch perfect… Clay was born to sing on stage.
I just had to say, that the Music Director/Conductor's name struck me funny. Edward G. Robinson…I did not notice that before. He was one of my favourite actors…back in the day. But it is not this gentleman… I did love how he smiled at Clay at the end of "These Magic Changes"… It's like he was so impressed that Clay could sing those notes… It was a great night..
I cannot believe it's been a year!!! WOW, time flies when you're having fun!! There were some amazing performances that night and I truly wish I had been there. Clay was spot on all night and I have to admit to developing a crush on Terrence Mann. I would love to hear Clay and Terrence together again – their voices are very different, but they blend beautifully together. I loved Clay's solo performances, but I also thoroughly enjoyed the duets and group numbers – amazing night all the way around.
Clay Aiken and Broadway songs – they are absolutely the ones he excels at the most and is meant to sing. He is in his element. His voice soars – rings clearly – evokes emotion like no one else – and without forced or practiced fancy gymnastics. Bringing Broadway Back was a superb performance of every song he sang.
An album or TV special with Clay singing all Broadway songs would be like dream made in heaven. I can't sufficiently communicate how much I loved Clay's BBB performance. Thought I was in another Universe. Just Unbelievable!
Can that man sing…or what? I thoroughly enjoyed both of those video's "This Is The Moment" and "Home." I have watched these video's many times from that Broadway Show…and I truly think that is where Clay belongs….on Broadway. He has such a powerful, clear voice…and sings without any effort. Just natural. I also enjoyed the duets he did on this show. Amazing man!
I was there!!! It was an amazing night. Each performer added a special touch to the evening.
Clay was so proud of Quiana…….and, if I remember correctly, the reviewer thought one of her songs was the highlight of the show.
As always, Clay's voice and passion gave me goosebumps.
Thanks for posting this to remind us of the wonderful evening.
I can't believe it has been a year either. I thought all the performers did really well but Clay was just fantastic on each song that he did. He is such a great entertainer. Clay really cares for his home community and I am so glad he participates in wonderful events like this one to keep the arts in the forefront in the Raleigh area.
It's been a while since I've listened to the audio and watched the videos from this event. I nned to do that. I sure wish I could have been there in person
