April 26, 2009 is the date of a fun and exciting fund raiser for the Bubel/Aiken Foundation. In conjunction with the A Step to Gold International Ballroom, the foundation will host “Dancing Like The Stars” at the Southern Women’s Show. Held at 1:oopm, many local Raleigh celebrities will compete in a dance competition to benefit TBAF.
Wes Hohenstein and Penn Holderness both work at NBC-17 and they are funny guys who will be participating in the competition. Wes thinks that he and Penn are “the two most uncoordinated employees at NBC-17.” However, they are still practicing and getting ready to show off their moves in the competition. Wes says he hopes to raise lots of money for the Foundation.
Other celebrities participating in “Dancing Like The Stars” include representatives from The News and Observer and WRAL. Many thanks should go out the the news outlets in the Raleigh area for supporting the Bubel/Aiken Foundation.
The winner of the competition will be determined by votes from the people of the community. Donations count as votes, so if you have a favorite celebrity, be sure and donate to ensure their win. Donations and votes can be submitted on-line or at the event. Whoever thought of this unique fundraiser should be excited to see it happening.
Wes Hohenstein wrote a very funny blog about his participation in “Dancing Like The Stars.” You can read it HERE
Here is some rehearsal footage from the Dancing Like The Stars 2009 page on the TBAF website:
