Home, Sweet Home! I loved every moment of the Champions Gala,
but it is always good to be home!
I keep remembering the excitement and fun of the Gala. Of course the National Inclusion Project was the star of the week-end, however, Clay Aiken is still a large part of the celebration.
On Saturday night, Clay thanked the the audience repeatedly for their support of the project. He was not alone…each staff member thanked us also. As the evening came to a close, Clay remarked how much it meant to see so many people in the room that had been a part of the Project from the very beginning. He also commented that besides our support of the project, we seemed to support him as well…through thick and thin, “come what may.”
So, as “the calendar flips pages into 2014 and our direction and course veers in a different direction,”…”this final song, this moment is all for you!”
Clay then sang the beautiful song, You Are The Song. With only a spotlight on Clay, the performance was a masterpiece of beautiful music, an amazing voice, and a huge amount of love. A video of pictures played over Clay’s head and Clay even turned at a moment to watch some of the video himself…then he silently left!
I thought you might want to see these two photos.
I have many pictures of the silent auction. If Photobucket cooperates, I will get them up later today. It was a fun time!
