I was so excited on Thursday morning when I received an E-mail from The National Inclusion Project.  I learned about the Perfect Harmony Honorees that will be an important part of the Champions Gala on October 21 – 22.

The Champions of Inclusion are:

Christopher Duffley

Christopher Duffley is a 15 year old musician and gifted speaker who happens to be blind and living with autism.

According to his bio:

He became a youtube sensation when a video of “Open the Eyes of My Heart” became viral in 2012. To this day, it continues to be shared, impacting tens of millions of people while being translated into many languages all over the world. Christopher travels coast to coast, entertaining, evangelizing and inspiring audiences on multiple platforms. Christopher, with his sister Grace, recently performed as part of Pope Francis’ US visit. 40 jumbotrons, along with a live CNN feed, entertained the pilgrims in downtown Philadelphia during the World Meeting of Families. In the last year, he has been featured on NH Chronicle and on ABC’s digital 20/20 Series, Young and Talented this fall. He has had multiple stories with all major TV networks and the BBC.

I am looking forward to hearing him sing and share his talent with us.

Spring Awakening

Spring Awakening is a Broadway musical performed simultaneously in American Sign Language and spoken English. It allows a spotlight to shine on talented actors of ALL abilities and has played a great role in increasing the diversity and inclusivity on Broadway.

Sandra Mae Frank and Katie Boeck, who share the role as Wendla, will be representing the cast of Spring Awakening at the gala.

It is wonderful to also know that there will be fabulous music by three of my favorite musicians, Clay Aiken, Ben Cohn, and Quiana Parler. With the theme, All In Perfect Harmony, you just know there will be some wonderful music.
