Hello From Cary, North Carolina. When I arrived early Monday morning,it was 28 degrees….a bit colder than I thought it would be!!
I thought these two Facebook messages were fun to read early in the morning!!
Michael Shepherd
Just saw clay Aiken on the side of the road putting out political signs it’s nice seeing a candidate getting his hands dirty for a changeKaren Ann
Just gave a shout-out via my car horn to Clay Aiken the former American Idol runner…he was at the traffic circle here in Pinehurst with his signs & a television crew as he is running for elections for North Carolina, it was really neat to see him….good luck Clay!
Another message came from Nita Foe with some nice pictures:
That guy Clay Aiken on the campaign trail today getting it in. At the corner of Cliffdale and Skibo. He crossed in front of my truck and took time to wave at my camera lol even though he was at my job last week.
Clay Aiken is so down to earth

I had the opportunity to attend the meet and greet with Clay at Campbell University. The university is about a 45 minute drive from Cary. It is a beautiful drive and in a very rural area. I loved seeing the cotton fields. We don’t see that in California!
Campbell University is a beautiful campus and the College Democrats group is wonderful. Many of the members came over immediately to welcome us and chatted about the election and Clay. They all seemed very excited about meeting Clay and are encouraging all their friends to VOTE!!
Clay and Nick arrived on their beautiful election bus. Clay greeted each person and asked for their name. He talked with many of the students about the election and took MANY “selfies”. The occasion ended with a wonderful group picture! A big thank you to SueReu for the pictures from Campbell University. Be sure and give her credit if you post them.
It was a fun time and I enjoyed watching the young students who are serious about the decisions they will be making when they vote. It was also interesting to watch and listen to Clay and Nick. They do an excellent job of talking with the young people and being serious but having some fun too.
I was glad to get back to the hotel. I certainly wish that a deer hadn’t decided to run into my car as I drove home. Poor thing…the car and its occupants are all fine!!!
I look forward to today. Lots of work for everyone on the campaign and then an evening of fun and celebration in Sanford!
Stay in touch…I will post up dates!!!
