Where will you be on February 20, 2012?  For some lucky Clay Aiken fans,  they know right where they will be…at Carnegie Hall.  Others will be on-line, hoping to hear about Clay’s first performance at the renowned concert hall.

Sponsored by the Distinguished Concerts International – New York, the concert is titled Reflections of Life.  Billed as a special guest, Clay will be working with well-known, ASCAP award-winning choral composer and arranger, Greg Gilpin.  What a great honor for Clay to work with such a distinguished musician.

Although this is a somewhat serious musical experience, I thought we might have a bit of fun today….This is all in good fun!

The concert at Carnegie Hall will be a classy affair.  So… What should Clay wear?? (I told you its all for fun today!) Here are a few looks that might be appropriate. What do you think?

PBS Special Photo Shoot

GLAAD Awards

Christmas 2007

Tonight Show - Leno

Nick at Night

Emmys

American Music Awards

Billboards

There are so many other great outfits. I probably did not post your favorite. But, I did the best I could. I left out great outfits when I didn’t have a wonderful picture to show it off.

Which outfit is your favorite for Clay to wear on February 20th?  Do you think he might wear a tuxedo instead?

So sorry about the videos. They were not blocked when I put them up!  In a few minutes I will see if I can find something else.  BLOCK FROM 2004?  Silly!

Do you remember January 21, 2004? If so, you will recall that Clay made a visit to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Clay had a great chat with Jay and they talked about fans, panties, and videos. This was the interview when Clay found out he was voted in the top three to take a bath with. The other two were Brad Pitt and George Clooney. Clay also showed his pre-makeover drivers license to Jay and the audience. Clay also sang a wonderfully exciting rendition of The Way. The following videos feature Clay on The Tonight Show.

Clay Aiken – Sometimes You Just Remember

It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years since Clay Aiken released the album, A Thousand Different Ways.  After many starts, twists and turns, this album, filled with love songs, revealed some real gems.

Clay started the promotion for A Thousand Different Ways with an appearance on The Tonight Show.  Sometimes you just remember certain Clay Aiken performances more than others.  Clay’s visit with Jay Leno on September 15, 2006 is one that is remembered and popular with many fans.

Howie Mandel was the first guest on the show.  He was very funny and his comedy relaxed Jay and the audience.  But the audience was waiting for Clay and he certainly didn’t let them down.  He seemed very relaxed and chatted about many different topics.  All three of the men seemed to have a good time together and kept the audience entertained.

Clays engaging interview featured his European vacation.  He chatted about passing out in McDonald’s while in Slovenia and getting so ill that he started planning his funeral.  He even mentioned that he wanted Ruben to sing at the service!!

But this visit to the Tonight Show was really remembered more for the stunning look that Clay had that night.  There was just something special about the gray suit that made Clay look amazing.  The pictures from that night are some of the best and the two videos are pretty awesome too.

Clay Aiken – You Get What You Give!

By musicfan123 · Comments 11540(28)http%3A%2F%2Fclaynewsnetwork.com%2F2011%2F08%2F20%2Fclay-aiken-you-get-what-you-give%2FClay+Aiken+-+You+Get+What+You+Give%212011-08-20+07%3A25%3A51musicfan123http%3A%2F%2Fclaynewsnetwork.com%2F%3Fp%3D11540

I’m a true believer in karma. You get what you give, whether it’s bad or good.

~Sandra Bullock

On Friday, August 19th, the entertainment news was filled with news about Conan O’Brien.  According to The Wall Street Journal:

TBS’s pricey Conan O’Brien experiment is flopping—and is about to get even more expensive.

The viewship for “Conan,” has fallen from about 2.4 million in the show’s first month on air in 2010 to roughly 958,000 people this past July, according to Nielsen Co. data.

Mr. O’Brien trails all major competitors on broadcast and cable during his 11 p.m. time slot. In certain weeks, he’s also fallen behind newer faces such as Chelsea Handler.

In July, Mr. O’Brien averaged about 685,000 viewers between the ages of 18 and 49, placing him behind cable competitors such as Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart as well as broadcast rivals Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman and Jay Leno.

Despite the 60% drop in Conan’s ratings during his first year, TBS is continuing to support their investment.  TBS is putting their money where their mouth is. They have hired Conan for $12 million a year, and have committed to a second season.  They are also going to begin airing episodes of CBS’ comedy hit, The Big Bang Theory, as a lead-in for Conan twice a week, which will cost an estimated $2 million per episode.  They hope this will jive well with Conan’s younger audience.

As a fan of Clay Aiken, I am really laughing at this information.  I will NEVER forget the cruel way that Conan made fun of Clay for years.  Maybe some can forgive and forget, but I am not that kind.  Any comedian who bases his routines on bullying other people is not funny.  A real comedian can be really funny without hurting another person!!

I agree with Sandra Bullock!!  Karma bites you when you least expect it!!

What do you think?  Maybe you can convince me I am wrong…

Clay Aiken has appeared on the Tonight Show many times.  On May 11, 2004, Clay was a guest on The Tonight Show.  As a part of May Sweeps, the Show was broadcast from Las Vegas.  Clay chatted with Jay and they discussed:

1.  Clay’s New Years’ Eve costume.

2.  The story of being a car thief.

3.  How Clay wanted to be like Mr. Rogers

4. The latest story in In Touch Magazine about Clay being the loneliest Guy in LA.

The highlight of the evening was hearing Clay perform Solitaire.  He always seems to sing that song from his heart.

I hope we see Clay on The Tonight Show again soon!!

Clay Aiken In Washington

Do you remember what were you doing on the evening of May 1st, 2004?  Well, it is a date that was important to Clay Aiken.  That was the night Clay attended the White House Correspondents Dinner.  It must have been an exciting night for Clay as he attended both the dinner and the famous Bloomberg reception held the same evening.  With all his food allergies, I hope he was able to eat at the dinner.

The annual White House Association’s Correspondents (WHCA) Dinner was held last night and hosted by Seth Meyers, the Week-end Update anchor on Saturday Night Live.  It was held at the Washington Hilton Hotel.

The WHCA dinner has become a significant media event in its own right. The tickets to the Correspondents Dinner are highly coveted. The glitzy event attracts an eclectic mix of Hollywood celebrities, government officials, political figures, and, of course, journalists. Known as Washington’s prom, every president since Calvin Coolidge has attended the dinner.

A big name comedian hosts the evening. In the last few years, the hosts have been Wanda Skyes, Craig Ferguson, and Jay Leno. But the signature moment is when the President has an opportunity to mock himself and the media who cover him every day.

The WHCA is an organization that represents reporters and journalists who cover the President and the White House.

This year, four reporters were named winners of three of journalism’s most prestigious awards, and were honored at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. The association also gave out more than $100,000 in scholarships for journalism students.

The WHCA dinner event did not really take off until the 1920s and has been a staple of the Washington social calendar ever since. Believe it or not, women – who were members of the association, were not allowed to attend the dinners until 1962.

That changed when, at the prodding of Helen Thomas of UPI, President John F. Kennedy said he would not attend the dinner unless the ban on women was dropped.

Some of the people on the red carpet last night included rapper Cee Lo Green, Paula Abdul, Scarlett Johansson, Sean Penn, and Donald Trump.

The following video shows some great footage of Clay Aiken when he attended the dinner in 2004.

” You don’t love someone for their looks, or for their clothes, or for their fancy car, but because they sing a song only you can hear.” ~ Anon.

Do you remember September 15th, 2006?  Clay Aiken kicked off the promotion for his CD, A Thousand Different Ways by making an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

All around, this was one great appearance.  Clay was relaxed as he chatted about his recent trip to Eastern Europe, passing out in McDonald’s, and planning his funeral.  Clay also was dressed to impress.  He looked amazing in his suit with matching shirt and tie.  Most important for the night was Clay’s wonderful performance of Without You.  It was a fabulous night!

The following are some of the great pictures that were taken that night… there are no words!!  Which one is your favorite?

Quote of the Day

It is not always about performance art, but about receiving positive energy from people with positive spirits. Sometimes we can see someone's spirit, and those are the people with great energy. Those are the people that get me through the day, especially on Broadway. -Clay Aiken
