Clay Aiken – Clay vs. Zumba!

On Monday, February 9th, a new and innovating fund raiser for  The National Inclusion Project was posted on FaceBook:

Glow In The Dark Zumba Party for Inclusion

The event will take place on Tuesday, March 17th from 5:15pm – 8:00pm  EDT.  It will be held at the The Frontier, 800 Park Offices Drive, RTP, NC 27709.

The Facebook article says:

Join us for a ZUMBA PARTY to celebrate St. Patty’s Day and to benefit the National Inclusion Project where we ensure no child sits on the sidelines! Your participation and contribution will raise awareness and money to help bridge the gap existing between children with disabilities and the world around them.

~Doors open at 5:15 pm with Zumba starting at 6:00 pm
~Joey’s DJ Services, locally owned by Joey Browning, will be on-site to get the party started
~Mary Kay consultants Marcella Banbel Stewart and Gulanara Trauco will be on hand to provide free hand treatments
~Bring your glow sticks and wear green to get entered to win a gift certificate for a free massage
~Don’t have glow sticks? Don’t worry we have you covered!
~Registration is open now via Eventbrite. Also, donations will be available at the door using Square or Cash; however, space is limited. Reserve your space online today!

If you can’t participate on-site you can still contribute to the National Inclusion Project through an online donation.

So….what is Zumba?

According to The Mayo Clinic:

Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — and resistance training. The mission of Zumba is simple: They want people to want to work out, to love working out, to get hooked.

So…have you a green outfit to wear on March 17th?  This sounds like a great idea for a fundraiser!!

I live in California so I won’t be able to attend, but I think I will send a donation to The National Inclusion Project to sponsor two people who can now attend.  The link above makes the donation easy!  Do you want to join me?

And Clay Aiken?  I can’t wait to see you attend this class!  I bet a video of your participation would bring in lots of donations.

Clay can move…
