Clay Aiken – The American $10 Dollar Bill

Thursday is usually a rather quiet day, but yesterday, Clay Aiken was mentioned on at least three busy sites.

Clay started the day by sending a tweet  about a woman being featured on a new $10 bill in 2020 :

My votes: ROSA PARKS or JEANETTE RANKIN

U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is asking the public for help to choose the lady.

The department launched a website, and is asking for input over social media with the hashtag #TheNew10.   Good to see Clay answering immediately.  Of course I knew Rosa Parks immediately, but I admit I had to look up Jeanette Rankin – the first woman elected to the United States Congress in 1916 and again in 1940, from the state of Montana.

It seems that many news sites picked up Clay’s vote:

The Christian Science Monitor

A woman’s portrait will soon appear on the $10 bill. But it can’t be Beyoncé.

The Treasury Department is asking for suggestions of women to feature for a new note set to be revealed in 2020…

….Singer Clay Aiken tweeted his proposal for Ms. Parks or Jeannette Rankin, the first American Congresswoman…

Not a big mention, but good enough to be posted at other sites too.

The Advocate.com wrote the following article that was published on Thursday:

33 Famous Gay Dads for Father’s Day

This Sunday, give a big Father’s Day hug to Ricky Martin, Neil Patrick Harris, and Perez Hilton — as well as the rest of our highest-profile gay dads.

Clay Aiken
Clay Aiken and platonic baby-making partner Jaymes Foster welcomed their first child together in North Carolina in August 2008.

The site has at least one picture for each father and child and a comment under each picture. It seems to be filled with beautiful families.  Stop by…it’s worth the time!  You can see the article at ADVOCATE

I look forward to being able to write exciting, up-to-date news about Clay.

I hope it will be “soon”.

What woman do you want to see on the $10.00 bill?
