Clay Aiken – The National Inclusion Project Update!

Happy Thursday!  I hope you have a great day!

On Wednesday night, I had the opportunity to sit in on a conference call with the National Inclusion Project.  The Director’s Chat was hosted by Executive Director, Nick Leisey.  The call lasted about 30 minutes and we got to hear the up-to-date goings on in the National Inclusion Project.

Nick talked about the Power of Play Conference.  The conference will be held at Marbles Museum in Raleigh, NC. on March 29-31. It is the opportunity to see inclusion in action.  There will be many leaders in the field of inclusion that will be giving workshops at the 3 day event.  There is a free app for the event.  It will allow participants and others to keep up with the schedule and know what is happening through out the event.

I am so excited that I will be attending this year.  I am sure I will learn so much and have a great time too.

Nick also mentioned two important fundraising events. Dancing Like the Stars is a successful fundraiser organized by Faye Parker.  The Arthur Murray Studios partners with the Project and helps some known North Carolina stars compete and raise money for The National Inclusion Project.  It is going on now so you can vote NOW!

Nick also mention the “Save The Day 5K” that will be held on August 26 in Harrisburg.  For more information about any of these events, visit The National Inclusion Project website.

Nick then introduced one of the founders of the Project, Clay Aiken.

Clay thanked Nick and said he was pleased they were having these chats as everyone can check in and learn what is going on.

Clay talked about the 2017 Gala.  He said the event will be held on October 27-28, in Charlotte, NC.  He also said that the Gala will be a celebration and they will be pushing more music into the Gala.  Their goal is to make the Gala more of a thank-you to all for 14 years of support. Clay said he will “bust it out with a full band.”

We were told that the website will have the details “by tomorrow sometime”.

Nick came back on to let us know that the Gala committee is already working hard and if you are interested in volunteering, please contact Tonya.

Of course, there was so much more said…but hopefully I hit the important parts.  The next time Nick lets me know about the chat, I will post about it here so you can be a part of the chat too!!
