David Siegel is a musician and songwriter who lives in South Beach, Florida.  He is probably best known for co-writing songs for Enrique Iglesias.  Siegel placed #3 in the Top Ten Songwriters Chart listed in Billboard Magazine’s First Publishers Quarterly Edition issued in May 2009.

Siegel also enjoys performing live in South Beach.  He performs bass in a rock band named Raging Geisha.

In 2003/2004, David collaborated with Iglesias, Steven Morales and Kara Dioguardi to write for Clay Aiken.  David is given credit for co-writing Measure of A Man and The Way. Both of these songs have always been popular with Clay Aiken fans.  They have great lyrics and it always seemed they were songs that Clay enjoyed singing.

Do you remember when the video for The Way was popular on MTV?  Although I was not a fan of MTV, I enjoyed the excitement of seeing the video rise to the top of the list.

When was the last time you watched the video of The Way?  If it’s been a while, you now have the chance to see it again.  ENJOY!!

For Clay Aiken and his fans, the page has turned and Decca Records is adding the print.  Today, Decca took the first step in filling in Clays fan page at Decca’s  website.  Under the media section, they have added 3 videos.

Clay Aiken – Meet Trey Aiken

February 7, 2004 was a typical Saturday night.  At 11:30pm, televisions all over the US switched to NBC to watch the popular show, Saturday Night Live. The guest host of the evening was Megan Mullally, but the star of the evening was Clay Aiken.

The preceding week, NBC teased their audience with lots of fun promos for the show and each one showed Clay just being his “funny” self.  There was even one with a “pasty” that was a parody on the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Most Clay Aiken fans knew the night was going to be great as soon as we saw Clay jump on stage dressed in a white tux and belting out “She’s So Hot!”

Clay was actively involved throughout the show.  One of the highlights was a skit about getting into the Grammy Awards.  The ill-fitted suit, the curly wig, the exaggerated accent and especially the “Aiken Wink” made Trey Aiken and the skit a highlight of the entire season.

Besides acting, Clay sang   “Invisible” and “The Way.”  When the show was over, it was fun to see all the cast hugging each other and congratulating Clay for the great job that he did.

Clay Aiken – Brad, George, and Clay

As we are waiting for the “news” from Clay Aiken, it has been fun going back and re-living some of the fun things that he has done in the last 7 years.

Do you remember:

  1. Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Clay Aiken
  2. The blue sequined vest from high school
  3. “A Panty or two” and “Depends”
  4. Skipping to the front of the line at the DMV
  5. The original DMV picture
  6. Raleigh = Mayberry

If you remember these fun stories, you probably remember Clay Aiken visiting Jay Leno on January 21, 2004.  Dressed in a light beige suit with a brown shirt, Clay’s interview with Leno was fun, relaxed and full of lots of laughs.

Clay closed the show with a beautiful rendition of “The Way.”   The camera caught his beautiful smile at the end of the performance.

I have always enjoyed watching Clay on the Tonight Show.  It’s been fun seeing Clay become more relaxed at each visit.  I just hope that when Clay visits again, the script-writer comes up with a different introduction.  It was hard to hear the same exact words each time.

The Way

March 3, 2004………..Clay Aiken visited Total Request Live, a program on MTV that featured Music videos.  After a short interview with Clay, the program presented the World Premiere of The Way Video.  Take a look.  It is said that Clay worked hard to make sure that this video presented “real” people in a loving way.  Thank you, Clay, for wanting a true love story.  It is a great video.

It was Monday, February 15, 2004 and the crowd was growing at the corner of Hollywood and Highland in Hollywood, California.  The shopping complex was filled to the brim and the usual traffic flow was at a stand-still. All of this excitement was because two young singers were about to take the stage and show off their wonderful singing talent and amazing entertaining skills.

Clay Aiken and Kelly Clarkson joined Ryan Seacrest on his short-lived show, On Air.  It was a week before the two performers started out on their Independent Tour. The concert was short, but the huge crowd was lucky to be able to watch the entire sound-check before the concert started.

Clay performed his hit, The Way and the crowd showed their support with lots of applause, cheering and many creative, printed signs.

Even if you have seen this performance before, the video below is a great way to remember this exciting performance.
