Clay Aiken Rated By Forbes

On May 18, 2009, Forbes.com listed The Year’s Top-Earning “Idols”.  To come up with their list of top-earning American Idol alums they totaled earnings from album sales, concerts, merchandising and other income sources for the past year.

1. Carrie Underwood $14 million
2. Jennifer Hudson $5 million
3. Kelly Clarkson $4.2 million
4. Jordin Sparks $3.1 million
5. Kellie Pickler $2.3 million
6. Clay Aiken $2.2 million
7. Chris Daughtry $2 million
8. David Cook $2 million
9. David Archuleta $1.3 million
10. Taylor Hicks $300,000

Congratulations to all the Idols.  It is nice to see their financial future seems secure.

Since this is only earnings for 2008, it is interesting to compare some of the numbers.  Perhaps the most surprising is the numbers for Taylor Hicks.  It makes you realize that all the other idols that are not shown made less than $300,000 this year.  Where is Ruben, Fantasia, Elliott??

The following is the picture and blurb that they published about Clay Aiken

  1. That’s pretty darn good for someone who got no promo for OMWH..or anything else from RCA or AI for last year. Can you just imagine what he would have made with Promo? Would have blown them all away. You go Clay!

  2. After 6 years Clay Aiken is still going strong. He is multi-talented and has the future to do whatever he wants. I can’t wait to see what he chooses to do next.

  3. It’s great to see that Clay Aiken one of the few AI alum who is extremely successful with ZERO push from American Idol (and ALMOST zero push from his own label!!!) Well done Clay!
